Would Absolutely Stay Again

We stayed at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston primarily because of the great weekend rates, the pool (traveling with 3 young boys), and the location. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there and would definitely return. The location right near the science museum was fantastic (the Harry Potter exhibit was on), the mall across the street was convenient, the duck tour leaves from right nearby. The pool and fitness center were clean and available 24 hours. The river views were lovely and the beds were super comfortable. Helpful concierge, staff was there when we needed them, and otherwise didn’t bother us. It was perfect!

Can’t wait to go back

If you like being pampered and treated with the utmost courtesy and friendliness, this is the place for you. A great experience!

Nice Hotel...

The hotel is really nice, but it is a bit of a walk to the nearest T station (Lechmere). Everything in that area closes very early too. But, the staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean with a great bar/restaurant downstairs. I highly recommend it if you don’t mind to walk or are planning to cab it everywhere.

Great Location

Hotel Sonesta has a great location for anyone looking to have the convenience of going between both Cambridge and Boston as you can easily walk across the bridge to Boston or hop on the T. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean.

Boston Royal Sonesta

We enjoyed our stay, this location was right on the Charles River and accross the street from a mall with restraunt access. We were not far from Museum of Science, trolley stops, and train station (one half mile to each).

Take trolley tour early on to get the lay of the city and to decide what things you would like to go back and visit more closely.

Would go back anytime!

Great hotel in a great location! Would highly recommend. One thing the hotel could do would be to put some ventilation in the bathrooms. Talk about a steam bath! But overall it was a good place.

Traveler's tip

Eating there is waaayyy too expensive and lots of other close by locations are great. Take advantage of trains - easy access to all Boston! Visit the North End, love Little Italy!

Very Impressed

I really enjoyed this hotel. It was very close to the charles river and I enjoyed my morning paper by the water. The breakfast was very expensive though. Enjoy.

Excellent location

I did enjoy my stay. The hotel was in a wonderful location. The service there was above excellent. The only issue I have is that the room was VERY small.

EXcellent view

I enjoyed staying at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge. The fitness center is very user friendly and has a lot of light. My room had a beautiful view to the Charles River!! The only thing I could make a comment is that the bathroom needs update, although very clean.

Great hotel, great location

The room was very clean, had free internet (other hotels in the area offer internet, but expensively). Great location, very close to the mall, nice view if you’re facing the river.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The hotel was 1 minute away from the Galleria and about 5 mins walk to the Lechmere T Station and 10 mins or so to the Kendall MIT Station (very conveniently located). If you happen go arrive to Logan, take the T to Kendall and take the Galleria bus outside the station to the mall. You’ll walk about a min to your hotel room! Make sure to buy a rechargeable Charlie card at the airport and use it during your stay.

Good stay for business

A small, well-put-togther room was perfect for my 4-day business trip - nice location, lots of restaurants and sites in Cambridge within walking distance - staff was professional, but also genuinely friendly and cheerful.

Great escape

Terrific location along the Charles biking/running path, next door to the science museum & mall. Impressive art collection. Great room comforts. Not "just like" every other hotel. A real gem.

Couldn’t ask for better in this price range

Great view and window could even be opened to let in fresh night air. AC was thermostatically controled and not one of those noisy and intrusive window/wall units that recycles continually.

very very disappointed

We were not happy at all. We arrived at 2:40 Boston time and no room was ready. With checkin time at 3 we assumed that something would be available. The girl did offer us a business room and threw in breakfast . We acceptedthis which was our biggest mistake. The room was small and the bed even smaller. In retrospect we should have complained or waited but after a long trip we wanted to get settled. This room was not suitable for a couple AT ALL!!!! overall very very disappointed

A short walk to the subway from the hotel. All attractions a short ride on the subway. We took a sunset cruise on the Charles river which was only a block or 2 from the hotel. Also, they have a Trolly there at 9:30 so you can take the Trolly tour. It was very handy!

Wonderful Hotel

The Royal Sonesta is in a great location in Cambridge convenient to all Boston has to offer. The rooms were lovely.

Great Hotel

Stayed for a weekend. 3 Adults, 1 child. Room was very clean and comfortable. Restaurants were very good, especially ArtBar. Staff was excellent.

Got a great deal!!

Only hope I can get such a great deal next time, for sure I would stay there!!

It’s right next to a Mall, the River and a couple blocks from the Train Station. Train into Boston only a couple stops away!! Short and Sweet! Driving is hard though especially on Starrow, and getting over the river, and making sure you are heading in the right direction, and can make the turn you need off of one way streets!

Not what I expected

The hotel room was very small and compact. My husband and I were surprised. The hotel restaurant was extremely expensive and there are other fees like parking that they don’t tell you about ahead of time.

Well Located, Confortable, close to the mall

Love the View

Altho we had prepaid for our room, it had been given away when we arrived for check in totally exhausted after a long drive to help our son move into college. The hotel put us up at a comparable hotel across the street & upon check in the next day,upgraded our room to a suite with a lovely view, and did not charge us for the first night. The view from the large windows in our suite was breathtaking at night and worth the extra fee for the view. Access to the Galleria across the street, allowed us to eat economically, as well as outside by the water. We took a boat ride thru Boston Harbor provided to patrons of the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the history and views of the city from the water. The courtesy van to popular locations downtown was helpful as parking is quite expensive and difficult to access. The artwork on display was beautiful and hotel staff were courteous and attentive. We hope to stay there again on our next visit.

Positive Experience

This is an upscale suburban hotel and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The pool seems fresh and well attended.Transportation was easy as taxis were plentiful and the "T" (subway system)is close by.

Hotel food is excellent but a little pricey. The mall across the street offers a wide range of food choices.
