Airport Hotel

Everything was pretty normal at this hotel with the exception of a few things. The parking situation is terrible. My room smelled like smoke, even though it is a smoke-free hotel. The maids need to clean a little better. It looked as if my vanity hadn’t been wiped off and I saw a hair in the bathtub, which led me to believe they didn’t clean the tub.

It works for me.

If you need to stay near LAX, this is a great option. Clean, newly decorated room and friendly service.

Dissappointed!!!!

Did not know this hotel allowed pets.Have stayed here many times without any problems.Soon as we got to the room (7th floor) there was this smell though out the 7th floor and our room..Also there was a dog barking next door. Called front desk to handle the situation and they did. Tried to sleep but couldn’t due to the smell and cat hairs. I know it sounds bad but I am allergic to cats and called to be moved the next day. As soon as we moved to a different floor and room I could tell no animals were allowed on that floor(no smell and hairs)....Slept good and enjoyed the rest of the stay. If you are allergic to animals make sure you tell them before hand otherwise it will be an unpleasant night for you as well. Front desk seemed annoyed when I asked to be moved and the bellman never gave me the new room key even though he said he would bring it..The next morning I went to get the key at the front desk and was the only person in line. As soon as she helped the customer in front of me she took off and left me standing there by myself with no one else to help me....Finally she came back after 5 mins and looked at me and asked my I help you? lol!!! I guess you can’t expect much for 75 dollars a night.....Oh wait in Vegas you can..........! The only reason I give hotel service a 2 and not a 1 was the room service..They were spot on.....!

It’s really good for the price I paid.

Huge Bang For Little Buck

Well... It was the Night after my wedding in Laguna. When our driver pulled up to the hotel I was very pleased. It was the nicest Hotel in the Long line of Hotels by the airport. We walked in to a beautiful room with Large sitting area, windows overlooking the pool below. As we watched airplanes go by you could barely hear the sounds of their noisy engines. The bed was tucked around the corner. Huge, comfortable, King size bed with flat screen TV right in front. Awesome!

Not too impressed

It might just be me, but I don’t think that higher priced hotels should have extra costs that cheaper hotels don’t have, like Internet for an extra $10 per 24 hrs and a fridge for an extra $20 per night. There were small bits of candy and chips under the table, a few ants in the bathroom, and the tub drained very slowly. Had to shower standing in a couple inches of water. The concierge was helpful but hard to understand. The bartender didn’t give me my change from $20 for a drink I ordered and rather than ask for my change back, I let him keep it.

The Sheraton is always a nice place to stay. The travel package i picked was the right price and met my needs.

A good, solid standby hotel for Los Angeles visits

Conveniently located next to the airport (this is why I gave a 2 for surrounding neighborhood, but this is to be expected at airport locations) we got a standard queen sized room. We use this hotel everytime when someone is visiting Los Angeles because it’s so easy to pick them up and transport them from the airport to the rest of LA (if you are spending most of your time on the Westside/Mid-city). We have stayed here before and we have always been happy with this hotel and service is good. Everytime we have been here there seems to be a huge event downstairs and it has alot of energy and hustle bustle. Another time we stayed it was dead on a Friday night and we hung out at the bar which was fun. Drinks were very well made though our food bill was a bit pricey. Compared to the Avalon Beverly Hills which is a terrible, terrible hotel (overpriced, badly designed, horrible room service, terrible front desk service and bad charging practices)... the Sheraton Gateway hotel is by leagues far better. It’s a real hotel and not some remade hotel trying to be "cool". Can you tell I had a bad experience at the Avalon? Just thought I’d mention this in case you were searching for a good, solid hotel for your LA visit. And the Sheraton Gateway fits the bill.

I had to wait at the front desk quite a while. The people (2) behind the counter acknowledged me, but left me waiting. One went into the back and the other kept telling me she would be right with me while she looked through the mail etc. There was a preferred member line and the people in that line were waited on immediately. I was the only one in the other line. My stay at that hotel will not be repeated.

Except for the fact that we had to ask and wait for a shower cap, this experience was fine.

A Great Airport Hotel

If you are looking for a place to stay near (or on top of ) LAX; This Is It! From check in to check out everyone was as nice as could be. Despite the proximity to the airport it was very peaceful. The buisness center was very useful and had multiple printers. The hotel had a great feel, great lobby bar, and gym. Its not a four seasons; but considering their very low rates, it was great. I plan to stay here again on my next visit to LA.

Great Hotel if Staying on Business

Hotel had a very nice atmosphere for those on business. Contemporary style didn’t suit us, but if it’s your preferred style, then you would love it!

I would stay there again if I return to the area.

sheraton gateway close to LAX

The hotel is very close to LAX, the free shuttle service runs every 15 minutes which is great, the room was good, the fitness center was terrific, no noise from the planes, I had a 6pm check out which I paid an extra $50.00 for.When I went to lunch and came back to my room -they locked me out and security had to escort me to my room and security asked what was in my room, I felt very VIOLATED!!!! and all they can say is "We didn’t know how this happen"

Very good hotel for this price

The hotel is very nice, I would recommend it to my friends as a very nice hotel for a not very expensive price.

the location is convenient to meetings in LA

The only bad comment is that I rented a car from the Hotel and then they charged $24 per day to park in their lot.

If you stay at LAX, there is a trolley that goes every 30 minutes to the best entertainment areas of LA.....including the beach.

My boyfriend and I stood at this hotel a few days ago and I absolutely loved it! It was extremely convienent to LAX, car rentals and most importantly the beautiful L.A sites. I found the hotel to be in excellent condition and the rooms to be great and clean for that matter. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who loves to be close to L.A without the crazy prices of staying in B.H or one of the poshier hotels. Good Job Sherton at LAX!

Traveler's tip

If you’re visiting Califronia for the first time, definitely plan in advanced! California is absolutely beautiful with a ton to see so if you’re only going for a few days, make sure you know where and what you’re doing. It definitely makes it better. Also the V.I.P Grand Tour is amazing if you have a limited time but want to see all of L.A.

one night stand

Hotel was very clean including our room, Staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was a little noisy from the jets taking off, I don’t think you can be any closer to the airport but we were on the airport side. Bed was comfortable and we both slept great. Parking is expensive especially Valet... dropped our rental car off early and caught ride down to hotel to avoid charges. Shuttle to airport worked out fine. We’ll definitely stay again next time we visit Los Angeles.

Avoid the valet parking $$$ garage parking is less than half and only about a block away.

Good Hotel near LAX international airport

We usually stay for one night to have a short break on our way to or from Tahiti. The hotel is getting older as we are, but remains a good stay.

service was OK, not impressed with what you get

The hotel room was very good. But I package free internet with my room. So you have to buy the internet service and then the hotel will take it off your bill. There is another hotel down the street for the same price with internet service and free Breakfest, where as I had to pay $15.00 at the hotel I stay in.
