Got what I paid for

Inexpensive. Smoke smell in a non-smoking room, remote didn’t work, shower weak.

Not impressed - got a smoking room even though booked non-smoking

Not impressed at all. Booked a non-smoking room and requested king bed. They gave (2) full bed room that was a smoking room I’m sure due to the strong smoke smell (I am allergic so can tell) and the ashtray in the room (that’s a giveaway).

Would never recommend.

Very disapointing. The toliet had been leaking for some time and the carpet was wet along with the rotting wood around the bed. The room had a bad odor, which we figured out was from the wet carpet. They did move us to another room, but when I was checking out the next morning, I discovered they had put someone else in that room, knowing there was a problem and charged them the same price we were charged.

Won’t go back there.

Maintenance of the rooms and hotel in general were unacceptable. Had a 3 inch gap under front door. Have stayed at many Super 8’s and this is the only one that I have ever been so disappointed with. The area it was located in was undesirable---very different than what was portrayed in the description.

Comfy Rooms

The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. There is no pool in service. My stepdaughter’s key card was demagnetized and when she called the front desk, the woman said she didn’t feel like walking all the way up the hill to her room to bring her another key card. The hotel overall is not very well-maintained, but everything in our room worked okay, but generally the place looks rather run-down and dirty on the outside. It is built going up on a hill and so it is a real hassle to walk all the way to the office to where the continental breakfast and coffee is located, and they only provide one pack of regular and one pack of decaf.

Traveler's tip on shopping

The hotel is located next to a newly built shopping center, with a Target and a really great discount clothing store called Ross. As a bargain shopper, I loved it! And the hotel is ten minutes from Birmingham, so it close to other shopping venues as well.

I didn’t know what to expect when we booked this Super 8. I was pleasantly surprised to see a nice place with very friendly and helpful service. The hotel is located near everywhere you might need to go in the city.(shopping, dining, etc...) The room was clean and there were no disturbances. This hotel is easy access to Talladega and toward home-in Mississippi.Over all rating is an A. I will stay again next trip.

Traveler's tip on dining

We ate at O’Charlies. The service and food were excellent. The Waffle House was also great for breakfast the next morning. It was crowded because of all the race fans. Still, the food and the staff were great. They have several nice places to eat there. Chili’s-mexican food-anything you might want
