not worth the money
only thing good about this hotel was the location, we had a conference across the street at the marriot (which was booked at the time of my reservation). very poor service, sink and toilet needed some repair.

Nice Hotel
This was a basic, no frills, clean hotel. I attended a conference at the Convention Center which was directly across the street. The hotel at the conference center was significantly more costly. Plently of surrounding restaurants.

descriminating front desk
hotel was nice upon entering the lobby.. once checking in, the front desk person asked me if i was going to the concert that alot of patrons were there for. i was not, but i am young and probably look alot like the people there for said concert. he handed me a paper that basically said that if they are suspicious that smoking is occurring in your room they will charge you 100 bucks!!! i asked for a non-smoking room for a reason. after refusing and arguing and then giving in, the next morning before even leaving my room, i noticed on my online bank statement that i had been charged.. when i left my room to complain, the whole floor wreaked like mary jane!! wouldn’t have minded if i was doing the smoking, but i wasn’t.. took 2 hrs. of more arguing to get them to remove the charge. afterwards, i went outside, smoked a fatty, because it is oakland, and you don’t have to hide in your hotel, you can walk down the street.. hotel was nice, dude was a jerk

the guy who hangs in the parking lot next to the hotel (not a parking attendent) knows all the spots. he’s got alot of good advice.
