Enjoy it!
We always stay here when in Galveston. They have really good rates and all the rooms face the water. Good, central location.

Commodore
This hotel is an awesome value. It is not fancy. But it is comfortable, reasonably priced, and in a GREAT location. We will return.
Traveler's tip on dining
Must eat at the historic retauraunt next door...I think it was Guidas...I may have the name wrong...but it is a must. Has been in Galveston since the 1930’s.

Would not recommend this hotel
My husband and I love staying in Galveston but did not remember seeing this hotel, but the pictures and price sounded like it was the perfect getaway for both of us. Oh how wrong we were! We drove past it first and thought there was no way that was the hotel we saw in the pictures, but it was. After checking in to a very rude staff, we had to get a parking pass to an ungated parking lot located in the back. I was afraid for my car’s safety. It was horrible. We then got in the elevator which had a very strong smell of hydrolic fluid and went up to our "room". The room was dirty and small, the bed looked like someone had slept on it before we arrived and the view was of construction going on across the steet. We did not even bring our bags in, we got back in the smelly elevator and got out of there as fast as we could. We got a room at a hote down the street where we ultimately had a great time. Unless MAJOR changes happen at this hotel, I would not recommend it to anyone. Never before have I paid for a room and it was so bad I left to go to another hotel.
