One King West Hotel & Residence

excellent location

excellent excellent location, rooms very clean and comfortable, service just fine. free wireless in the lobby is a plus. rooms on the lower floors (1-13) are somewhat dark, and don’t all open to the outside--they have windows into an inner courtyard. if this doesn’t bother you, this is a great place to stay.

Wonderful stay

Our stay at this hotel exceeded my expectations - the staff was friendly, the room was exceptionally clean and we couldn’t ask for a better location. The only item that was an issue - no Wi Fi available in our room. It was only available in the lobby and it was very slow. But would definetly recommend this hotel as well as stay again.

Great hotel!

I stayed at the hotel for four days for a conference. I *really* liked the room, the service, the location. It was a much better deal than the conference hotel! Only disadvantage: my room did not have natural daylight, as the window was facing a wall. I did not care that much, as I was out of the room most of the day. But make sure to ask while checking-in whether the room has a window!

Would go back anytime!!!!

We were so impressed with the hotel and the service we received. The hotel room was immaculate and extremely comfortable. We got engaged and being a long weekend it was difficult to get into a restaurant. The concierge (Ishi) rang around for us to organise a special dinner (5 restaurants later) and it was perfect. Upon coming back to the room we found champagne and chocolate covered strawberries - we were so touched. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!!! 5 stars!!

Room with a view

We had a great view of the area from our nice room on the 43rd floor. We were pleasantly surprised at full accommodations, including small clothes washer and dryer. The location was ideal -- practically next door to the bank where we had business and within walking distance of many attractions (St. Lawrence Market, the Second City, etc.). The staff was pleasant and helpful. Only negatives were no in-room safe and no free internet connection.

If choosing for the kitchenettes skip One King West

Although a two burner stove is in the room No pans for cooking included. No dish detergent, dish towels, paper towels, laundry detergent, coffee filters, etc included either. Studio Suite rooms are very small if you were able to cook the only place to eat would be in bed. Additionally this hotel has no concierge (to assist with tours, matinee tickets, etc) just a phone number to call where no one answers. And bathroom (very small with only a shower) pocket doors cannot be closed. Hotel stated it was due to safety issues, Unacceptable. The bed faces the bathroom so looking at your significant other on the loo is not ideal. And our window view was of a brick wall. These issues made our stay at the One King West quite uncomfortable. I suggest staying at any other hotel in Toronto. Most offer kitchenettes, laundry and supplies and all are accessible to the subway system to get to anywhere in the city. Most importantly they have working bathroom doors, bath tubs and a concierge. Ill stay at the Fairmont next time.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Stay away from concert venue Kool Haus. This unprofessional slippery establishment had patrons waiting outside for an hour to get into a concert and has no seating accommodations. Then the performer didnt show until midnight, 3 hours later then stated on the ticket. She sang 4 songs then left for the evening. $110.00 US down the drain.

Great in-room amenities, great view

Nice in-room amenities including microwave, refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, sink. Rooms are well appointed and well maintained. Lobby renovation was occurring during my stay, but it’ll look really nice when it’s finished. Right in the heart of everything, 5-10 min from convention center, theaters, CN Tower. Easy PATH connection, easy public transit access.

great hotel. has all the comfort of home. location is great- coffee shop, cvs, train station all across the street. union station is a 3 minute walk. WILL STAY AGAIN.

Met expectations

This was a very nice hotel with a terrific location if you’re planning on going to the CN Tower, Rogers Centre, or Eaton Centre. Don’t be fooled by the "all suite" statement, granted I had the lowest room category but it defintly was not a suite. There was no separate sitting area and the bathroom was the size of a tiny closet with a stand up shower only, no bathtub. There was a full kitchenette as soon as you walked in complete with stove, refrigerator, and even a small washer and dryer! I would stay here again though.

Sox Fans Stay Here

We went to Toronto for a Red Sox vacation. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and fun. The room was clean and perfect for us. We were so pleased that we already have recommended it to our friends. I will not stay anywhere else in Toronto!

Nice hotel

This is nice hotel but the only thing i’m not impressed is the 3rd night, i can’t enter my room cause the front dresk make a mistake.

Great Place

My stay was great. It was like having your own little apartment. The room had it’s own kitchenette with stove, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. It also had a small washer and dryer. So you can walk to a local grocery store and just buy groceries. The location is great, lots of restaurants around the area and a huge mall a few blocks down. The staff was very nice and quick to help. If you have a car get ready to pay $30 for parking per day and $10 for internet.

Won’t stay anywher else.

The staff were eager to please; always with a smile. Very knowledgable about the surrounding attractions etc. The location is great; the ammenities were excellent; even the bathtub was inviting.

In walking distance to the Rogers Center; CN tower; Harborfront; The Eaton center; St. Michael’s Hospital nearby (just didn’t like the frequent sirene’s).

VERY VERY HOSPITABLE & ACCOMIDATING

At first glance, my wife and I were concerned since the facility has no name on the main street and the auto entrance is setback on the street behind the facility. All of our apprehensions were quickly to vanish as the extreamly friendly staff welcomed us and gave a brief explanation. The only item that would have made stay perfect was the surprise that our room window viewed an enclosed area, much like an inside room on ship.

Best Experience in Toronto Will go back..

I have been to Toronto two times prior to this visit. By far this has been the best experience that I have had in Toronto. Hotel staff was very helpful. Upon check in I wasnt satisfied with my room and my room was upgraded to a suite with no problem. The room was a big size however the bathroom could have been larger. Nightlife was close to hotel was in town for Caribana Weekend. Overall Experience was great and will be back next year. This was my boyfriend’s first time in Toronto and he had a ball.

Great place to stay. Amenities were awesome. washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and cooktop on request. Only downfall for me was charge for parking car. $30/night. I recommend you check to see if you really need to have a rental car. I turned my car in the first day and walked. The underground system is " major"..

we saved a ton of money by going to the grocery store and cooking half the meals. everything is in the hotel that you need to prepare it and besides in canada there is a food and alcohol tax so our restaurant bills ended up having like $40 extra!!

Nice hotel, terrible bed.

The hotel was very nice but the bed was so uncomfortable that we were hardly able to sleep. Also the fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night during our stay and stayed on for at least 20 minutes. Terrible.

Excellent place to stay

I found the One King West to be an excellent hotel. Every single staff member I encountered was polite and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I also had a fabulous view from the 37th floor. The hotel itself is very well located, it is right next to King Station, and is also connected to PATH. Room service was always very prompt, but a bit pricey. I would definitely stay here again.
