Hitachi Nikko Hotel
This Hitachi Nikko Hotel has much smaller rooms than the Nikko at Narita Airport -- and the cost is also much less than at Narita. The hotel is very clean, and pleasant.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Hitachi is a WORKING CITY: Nice view of sea and surf, but there’s really no sea-side recreation for tourists. The sea-wall is built in segments, so that offers only brief stretches for running. Two big grocery stores in the city -- both in the basement level of shopping centers. Up-slope from the city, nice cedar forests on the steep slopes -- but there’s more hidden industry there too (mining).
