Unusually elegant even by Asias high standards
The Conrad Tokyo blew my wife and I away with its outstanding interior decoration. Nothing gawdy or showing off like the rather naff Park Hyatt. Instead, very understated but beautiful interiors. The room we had (the cheapest on offer) was 50 square metres, and exceptionally appointed. Really, an absolute pleasure to stay in. The neighbourhood is pretty soulless with the exception of Tsukiji Fish Market and the lovely park opposite, but the Shidome metro below the hotel is on a useful line for Shinjuku and Ginza. Having stayed in most of Tokyos top rated business hotels, I was shocked to discover such an unsung gem as this.
Dont be intimidated by the metro. Language is not an issue, and the famous crowds only occur at rush hour. It is all written in English, and the staff are helpful and mostly English speaking too. Fares are cheap, the trains clean and frequent, and we were able to sit on most of the trains we took. It is faster than a taxi and a lot cheaper.

Tokyos Best
The hotel is magnificent in every aspect! The food, the room, the view, all are top-rated! The staff are usually friendly and attentive, but a little more smile would be better. Overall a very very pleasant stay!

Best Hotel in Tokyo
The hotel was fantastic. We stayed in an executive king room, which was 500 sq feet in size (HUGE) and gave access to the executive lounge which offered free full breakfast, evening drinks and ample amenities. The decor is very modern, simple, and clean. The concierge staff were incredibly friendly, and helpful and helped us book travel outside of Tokyo, as well as with events in the city. Everyone in the hotel spoke wonderful English. Hotel is right at a major subway stop and an intersection with a big train station so travel around Tokyo was very easy. Taking cabs are very expensive, so subway is the way to go. Walkable to major sights, including the famous fish market, great restaurants and shops.
