Inexpensive Accomodations
This hotel is also an apartment building. It is located in Chinatown which makes it an interesting neighborhood. The area can seem a little run down, but once you get out in it you realize it is alive with families, students, and busy markets. Close to street cars and buses. Not far from downtown. The room is a studio and very, very small, but clean. Staff is polite and helpful. Price is right.

Mixed Feelings
The staff of this hotel were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. My room was small and basic, no fancy extras or luxe linens at this hotel. Not that I minded as the rate was good. Unfortunately no inroom safe. The kitchenette consisted of a small counter with undercounter fridge, two electric burners and a microwave. Enough glassware etc for 2 or 3 people. Only one pot and one frying pan. You have to ask at the office for a coffeemaker. Enough of a kitchen to make a quick breakfast or reheat takeaways. Shower had good water pressure. Found a long dark hair in the "clean" towels one day. My issues with the hotel are the level of cleanliness. Housekeeping is not thorough enough. Maybe the laundry workers should wear hairnets! Aside from that important issue, the major problem with this hotel is the neighborhood which is a bit rough. The apartment building opposite the hotel is surrounded by garbage and very rundown. I felt a little vulnerable walking from the streetcar to the hotel alone after dark. Mixed feeling overall, because while I would not reccomend this hotel to the majority of my friends and family, if travelling on a budget I would consider staying here again if the rates were substantially lower than other places. Admittedly I did consider changing hotels at one point but due to the film festival most places were booked or the rates were inflated.
