Pretty good for the money...
I was very happy with the customer service at this hotel but not so thrilled with the housekeeping. Believe it or not, I found out that my ex-husband and his new wife and family would be staying at the same hotel at the same time. They moved me to a different building and gave me an upgrade, and they were very nice about it. The room, however had not been thoroughly cleaned and could have used better attention. Housekeeping also threw my personal pillows on the floor when they made the bed. Yuck! Overall, I was happy.

Flooded Toilet
The toilet was flooded and it took about 1-2 hours for someone to come up to the room to fix. Also, the morning service at the hotel "restuarant" was slow and the restuarant manager was rude and lacked customer services skills. Also, the air conditioner in the room was not working properly and several phone calls later, it was finally fixed. I only stayed in the hotel for about 2 days and it was no where close to being enjoyable or relaxing. However, I did have a pleasant experience from the front desk. They are very responsive and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience from the hotel "restaurant" would prevent me from renting a room at the Canyon Plaza in the future. Also, the Canyon Plaza "Resort" is misleading. It is more of a two star hotel than it is a "Resort".
If you buy bottled water, then stock up on it before arriving to the Grand Canyon. "Bottled water" is overly charged in the surrounding stores.

Staying in Grand Canyon Resort
The hotel is located in a very convenient location. It is almost right outside the National Park gateway. However, when I drove from Grand Canyon gate to this hotel, I could not find any sign. I asked the counter of the IMAX movie house and found the hotel was right behind the movie house. The air conditioning was not working and the forcet was dripping on the first day we arrived, but all the other things about this hotel were very well.
