Nice location.....suites need work
The location of the hotel was great, and the swimming pools were great. The room was very disappointng for the price we paid. The general appearance of our suite was old and run down. There was mildew all around the grout on the bathtub, and the bathtub was stained appearing. The carpet also was older and stained. The room just generally appeared to be in need of a total makeover. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and knew their job well. The elevator also failed to work at times.

Not all updated rooms.
This trip was booked for my husband’s top salesman. He reported the first room they were in was grossly outdated and "dingy". He requested an updated room and was satisfied. He said there really was no beach to speak of.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
If you drive down the street about a mile there was a much nicer beach.

Disappointed
The hotel seemed somewhat run down and the room was totally bland. the bed coverings were worn out and there was only one small bottle of shampoo for four people in our suite-no other amenities. It had the appearance of a prison with barred doorways. The price was reasonable for the suite size in Galveston but I would not return.
