vry nice location

for a 5 stars hotel the confort is poor. the bed is very inconfortable. the rooms a very small, so we upgraded to a suite, wich was amazing. but still the bed are awfull. for the rest it’s not amazing but ok.I will recommand it in low season because it’s a good deal. otherwise it will be too expensive for what it is.

was Ok but not a 5 stars as described it is clearly a 4 stars.

Pool water to cold for me, cost of meals and beverages on the high side. Beach OK as well as swimming pool.

Great time on the Mediterranean

We spent ten days in Spain, four on which were in Marbella. The front desk staff was great and very helpful, they all spoke English. Of the hotels that we stayed in, in Spain, this was our favorite. The hotel was very clean and the view of the Mediterranean was beautiful. The free breakfast buffet was nice and the dinner buffet has a nice mix. Just remember, the beaches in Europe are topless and there are lots of smokers.

Traveler's tip on dining

There is a great Italian Restaurant behind the Plaza Lucia Hotel, which is connected to the Casino in Marbella. It is the Casa Italia. Check it out the food is great. I would recommend the chicken marsala.

Not a 4 star hotel as compared to other properties in the area

We asked for a superior double room which ended up being the side room to a suite. Their definiton of superior is you can see the ocean which is true if you go out on the deck and look over your neighbors deck to the left. They had no towels at the pool and we were told to wait a few hours ( this was at 2 PM). They never showed up!! We had to call them to clean and make up the room at 6 PM from the night before. When I asked for a bucket of ice for a sprained ankle they wanted 10 Euros or $16-room service is the only way to get ice. They also had no glasses in the room to drink water or soemthing from the minibar which was pathetic ( 1 beer, a couple bourbon bottles and water (at 6 Euros each) The hotel directions to find them were a joke-I had to stop at another hotel to get directions which helped me find them For the same money, I would suggest looking at other proerties

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Go into Marbella to eat, the prices are half of that in Puerto Banus and the food is more authentic

Great value!

This hotel is a few miles outside of Marbella, but situated on the beach in a lower density environment. A cab ride into town only cost a few dollars. The hotel was newer, not too large, with very nice wood finishings. They had an outstanding breakfast buffet that was included in the price of the room. We spent our mornings eating breakfast on the beach patio looking at the ocean. For the low price, this hotel is a great value.

Pt Banus - Gran Hotel Guadalpin

The hotel is located on a very nice beach with beautiful views of the sea. We didnt try the restaturant since Pt. Banus has so many different restaurants where you can get pretty much any cuisine. It is a pricey hotel for food and there is one gas station with a c-store as an alternative for snacks, water, cookies etc., WIFI coverage was horrible in some spots specially around 3rd floor 320 series of rooms. Floors are marble/granite so it gets dirty easily. The maids were not diligent in cleaning the floors and bathrooms and you have to insist upon daily cleaning it seemed.

Traveler's tip on dining

There is plenty of dining 1 exit south on N340 from the hotel-main drag Marbella...or take the pt. banus exit from A7. Its amazing with every cuisine including Pakistani.

Great room, slow service

My husband and I stayed at the Gran Hotel Guadalpin Banus in mid-September 2007. The rooms were nice with private terraces and large bathrooms. The maid service was great as were the on site grounds. The pool is very nice and private beach a bonus. The only major issue we encountered was the pool side service. It took a very long time to get waited on for lunch (30 minutes with no one else dining there) and the staff acted as if it was an inconvenience for them to serve us. It took another 25 minutes to get the check after we asked for it. We know in Europe that the dining experience is to be savored and enjoyed, but our several requests for the check were ignored all 3 times we dined at the hotel poolside for lunch. Beyond that, the staff was friendly, the rooms were nice, and the beach is quiet which was a bonus. We would recommend taking the 20 minute walk or taxi into town as the quality and prices of food were better than at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay overall for the exception of the food service.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

The strip near the hotel offers many clubs and bars which hand out coupons for free drinks and cover charge around 10:30. It’s a good way to get the night started until you find the club you’d like to spend the evening at
