Special place for a special night
We stayed here one night for our wedding anniversary and had a lovely evening. The staff are sweet and accomodating and the rooms are lovely. The swimming pool and hot tub on the top floor are wonderful. My only grumbles were very minor, we asked if there were croissants with the continental breakfast we ordered, were told there were but it didn’t come with any- the muffin was good though. Parking cost us $18.00 (for 1 night) even after our ticket was validated- very expensive!

Could have been better
I know booking through Expedia that your room choice is not guarenteed so I guess I can’t be too upset about what happened to me while staying at this hotel. We were in town for a cheerleading competition. The Hartford Marriott Downtown was connected to the convention center where the competition was being held and also was one of the few downtown hotels to have an indoor pool. My daughter and I were sharing a room with another mother and daughter. We were able to check in early but they gave us a room with 1 king-size bed. For 4 people? They said they could send up a twin-size air mattress for a fee of $20. Again, not seeing that this option is acceptable for 4 people. Luckily, a friend of ours that was staying at the hotel with just her and her daughter had two double beds so she graciously switched rooms with us. I believe the hotel could have handled the situation far better. And another parent told us that they argued with the front desk on the fee for the air mattress and the hotel waived their fee.
