Come relax in the beautiful Tuscan countryside at Casa Araba, located at Podere Sasso. The property is set between the medieval capitals Siena, Arezzo and Perugia. It stands on an outcrop of travertine rock, and looks over a wooded valley to the castle of San Gimignanello.Originally erected as a monastery in 1354, the structure was built around a central courtyard and is surrounded by spacious gardens, woods and an olive grove. There is a lake 3 minutes walk through the woods, and an ancient cave which travels under the courtyard and hill, exiting in the local village. The courtyard has a floor of travertine bedrock. It also has a large old pizza oven, where we can arrange pizza parties in the warm tuscan evenings. The gardens provide open spaces for sunbathing, surrounded by trees and flowerbeds. There is an arbour with a view across the valley, perfect for reading a book or having a barbeque.
