Would go back

The hotel is close to everything and we didn’t need to take public transportation at all. It was weird that you had to leave the key at the front desk every time you left the room. We met three staff members and one of them was pretty rude. We asked her for more blankets and she said flat out NO, but then requested them to someone else in the morning and we got more. The room is simple but clean and quiet. The mattress was very firm, but we didn’t have a problem to sleep on it after our long days walking around that wonderful city. Breakfast was ok, not the best, but enough to keep you going in the morning. Internet was around 6 euros.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Wenceslas square is not even 10 minutes away (walking) and 20 minutes from Old Town. There are lots of classical concerts in the Old Town. The lines to enter Prague Castle or the Cathedral can be really long depending on the month, so go there early.

Not a good location

Staff was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. A bit dissappointed that they didn’t have internet as advertised and the location was not good. The closest thing to it was a dark dingy restaraunt with a sign of an overweight soldier in a blue suit. Horrible experience. The waiter would exit one door and appear in another as you are trying very hard to enjoy your crappy meal. First he puts a bowl of nuts on the table after we ordered drinks, then after you taste one he says " that will be $$ for the nuts"

Traveler's tip on dining

avoid the restaraunt behind the hotel across the street from the police station! The sign has a soldier in a blue suit with yellow backround

Paid for triple room but given a double

When we turned up at the hotel with a confirmation of a triple room (king bed), we were told that because we’d booked only the day before, they didn’t in fact have a triple room to give us. Instead, and with no apparent remorse or apology, they put us in a tiny room with a double bed. They seemed utterly untroubled by the fact that we’d paid for a larger room than we were given. They offered us a free taxi, which I was temped to use to get as far from the hotel as possible.

Good news no bed news

The hotel is new and rather comfortable, but too noisy in rooms from the nearest big street.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

City center is nearby, easy access from metro station and airport.

Simple hotel with geenrous breakfast

I can’t say that there is a lot of things to do in the area but there is good access to the subway and to streetcars. Also, the hotel is very clean with courteous staff and excellent breakfast. They make beds every day and greet you when you come in. The pillows are a little lumpy but the rooms are nice enough and there is a small fridge that you can fit some personal drinks and such in.

Oveall quality low to medium

Otherwise decent hotel experience spoilt somewhat by poor airconditioning, noisy location and less than helpful attitude of front ofice staff.

Great hotel and location

Everybody in the hotel was helpful and couteous and spoke English. The breakfast was great. It is a quaint hotel just a few blocks from everything - shopping, the train, sight seeing. It’s located in New town just a few blocks from Wenceslas Square, but everything worth seeing in Prague is close in proximity, so be prepared to walk everywhere.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Take a walking tour and get a real personal view of the city from a local. Then you can back track the city to all the favorite sites you saw. Our tour guide was a student and filled with so much knowledge of every detail of the city and it’s history. Don’t forget to tip them well if you got more than your money’s worth with the tour! I know we did!

Can’t Wait to Go Back to Hotel DaVinci-Exceeded Expectations

This hotel was great, about a five minute walk to Wencelas Square, which is good so it is not so noisy. Just know that this hotel is not close to Old Town Square and the castle, but there is underground transportation about 1 minute from the hotel. The hotel was VERY clean, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had the "Apartment Room" which was HUGE, we were in awe when we opened the door. We drove, so we were worried about parking, but there is a garage that the hotel has a key for which is about a 5 minute walk away and not very expensive. So not bad at all. Enjoy-we did!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

If you really want to see Prague, do AT LEAST the four hour WALKING tour. We only did a three hour tour (by bus) and we were not happy. On the bus you could not see anything, you will see much more by foot.

Great Prague hotel

Hotel Da Vinci is great. It’s very centrally located. Making it easy to get to all the sites by foot or by transit. We came with a car and still had no problem finding it (if you’ve ever been to Prague, you know that’s saying something.) The rooms are large, clean and quiet. The building has been updated throughout to a contemporary look. I think it must have been a bank at one point because the included breakfast is served in what must have been the vault... the door looks like it’s at least a foot thick. My only gripe is that the hotel WLAN was non-functional during our stay. All told an extremely enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Prague.
