Quiet, simple and great for star-gazing!

It was a getaway to another world. Far from the huge hotels and all alone in the area. We went on the low season so they upgraded our room to the ocean front! The rooms are apartments with a full size kithcen (fully functional), living room, balcony and a nice bedroom. There weren’t many people there so we could walk around anytime of the day, enjoy the swimming pool the hot tub, the hummocks and the quietness of the area. The beach was groommed everyday and kept clean and nice for us to enjoy it night and day. I would recommend it for couples, groups and generally for everyone that goes there to relax and avoid the big resorts. If you want to be served, have everything in reach and the crowds, then it’s not for you. If you want a base to use it for relaxing not be bothered and orginise your trips around the island, cook and watch the stars, it’s perfect.

Very relaxing and quiet

We booked this hotel because we like being away from the populated tourist areas. The Hotel rating was 3.5 stars but I would give it 4. We booked ocean front one bedroom and were upgraded to a 2 bedroom so we had 2 sections of balcony. The breeze was constant and refreshing so we did not feel that we needed A/C in July! Had a little trouble getting sattelite TV to work and staff was very attentive to get the problem fixed. The pool is very clean and the $75 resort credit was nice to use at the bar/grill. One downside, the bar/grill has limited hours (until 5PM), so be sure you call first if you want to be sure someone is there to cook a meal or fix a drink for you. The beach is not as spectacular (some seaweed darkens some of the waters) as the turquoise of the Grace Bay area but each beach on Provo has its own personality and we enjoyed driving to visit as many as we could. The seclusion makes you feel like you have the island to yourself and we enjoyed walking the beach and seeing the stars at nite. You need a rental car since it is about 1/2 hour to the airport and downtown areas. Just remember to drive on the left and you have roundabouts instead of stoplights..can be a little tricky to navigate! We liked the freedom of having our own kitchen and cooking on our own time, but you should try the well known Conch Shack for local fresh seafood. We have been to several other islands in the Caribbean, but feel the waters around Provo are the most beautiful we have seen.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

I would recommend trying to book a day trip to one of the other islands. The local TC Air airlines has pretty reasonable rates to Grand Turk, as well as tome of the other islands. I believe there is also a ferry to at least one of the other islands. The Northwest Resort management had information available for guests wishing to make arrangements.

Great Location

This hotel was perfect for us. The location was well away from any of the other resorts on the island. We had the beach to ourselves and excellent snorkeling at the National Park just a 10 minute drive away. We would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to be isolated.

Traveler's tip on dining

Stop by Da Conch Shack, just 10 mins away for excellent rum punch and conch fritters.
