Great location, English-speaking staff
We stayed here one night, en route from Morocco to DC. I couldnt have been more pleased about the location of this hotel. It was less than a block off Plaza Major and a short walk to all the rest of the old city. There was a wonderful indoor market on the other side of the Plaza. The one problem with the central location was that it was loud. Garbage trucks went by all night and the men working on them were not concerned about being quiet. Still, I am a very light sleeper and with earplugs I did fine. The staff all spoke very good English and were helpful with dinner recommendations, maps, etc. The rooms are very modern. I thought it was kind of a nuisance that the shower had no walls, so that water covered the floor of the entire bathroom for a couple hours after each shower. Not sure where the perk is in that kind of design. But the shower itself was awesome. It had three different jets for a spa experience. The bed was comfortable and there was a laptop connected to the internet in the room. The hotel supposedly had wireless, but we couldnt get it to work on our laptops. I didnt bother asking about it though since we were only there one night. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in the middle of all the excitement Madrid has to offer. If you want a quiet hotel with big rooms, find somewhere else.

perfect location
The hotel was actually perfect in every way - understanding that it was European, the room was just fine and the bathroom particularly surpisingly modern and new. The service was mediocre - but thats okay as I was barely there. The best part of the hotel is its location - central to everything and very easy.
