Fantastic Hotel!

"Impressive" The hotel and restaurant are excellent, with top notch concierge sevice. We were treated very well. Even helped us with internet issues for the laptop without a problem. A really nice suite. Bed was awesome. Love the LG big flat screen TV’s. I would recomend this hotel for anyone staying dowtown. Close to GM Place and Granville Station. Even a liquor store right next door! Fantastic location! Can walk to about anything you want. Could use a HD guide to select channels for the TV. And directions for the shower. Regular rates are pretty high. But if you can make reservations on the off season. Rates are excellent.

this Westin has a great downtown location. I experienced the very best Service from everyone. Great front desk staff. Without asking I got an upgraded room that was just wonderful. One of the best massages I have received in my life.

great hotel, but fell short on te details

great atmospher, location, and wonderful pool. used to be great for kids but no longer. front desk service failed to follow through on service......offered kids toys as gifts but didn’t deliver after inquiring. baby-sitting service was absurdly expensive and prohibitive. stayed 3 nights and room was not cleaned well. but worth it for the location and outdoor pool.

Happiness in Vancouver!

We absolutely loved this hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful with sightseeing and restaurants. Our room was perfect for our family of four and the view was spectacular!! We also loved the breakfast and the location too! We definetly and highly recommend this Westin!

Best Staff

The staff at this hotel from desk staff to servers in the restaurant to the concierge were all super helpful and knowledgeable about Vancouver and everything else we needed. Nice fitness room and great terrace and pool. Well situated for walking to many locations we wanted to visit.

Not a Great View

Ad’s lead to believe a great view from upper floors. Not so, but still very nice.

Wonderful Hotel & Great Location!

While I have visited Vancouver on multiple occasions, this was my first stay at the Westin Grand Vancouver, and I was not disappointed! I stayed in a corner suite, and the full-length windows showcased views of the city, harbor and mountains! Even though it was smaller than some suites in which I’ve stayed, I never felt cramped. The staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient location to everything in the Downtown area, and easy access to multiple bus routes. Only minus, and it’s slight, was the slowness of the two elevators.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There are tons of places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotel. Visit one of the local restaurants and cafes. The variety of cuisine is great! Pick up some bus tickets and save on taxi service for those spots you want to visit outside Downtown Vancouver.

Enjoyable stay!

Very helpful staff - wish we had more time there. Would have appreciated free Internet but was grateful that there were stations available downstairs when we needed it.

We were there two nights and there were street activities going on both days we were there. Good music and entertainment.

Affordable, Clean & Superior Customer Service

My friend and I needed a place to stay prior to catching a cruise ship from the Vancouver port. The cruise line had recommended a couple hotels but I decided to do some research on my own especailly since we wanted to explore the city a few days before setting sail. The Westin was priced a little higher than some of the other hotels but I decided to go with them anyway. The staff was very friendly(especially Sis), and the location couldn’t have been better! We walked EVERYWHERE to and from our hotel and when we needed to go out of the city transportation was not an issue since Robson street is very popular and most tours offer complimetary trips to and from that area. We had such a great timein Vancouver that we are already planning on returning and will definately stay at the Westin again.

The hotel is centrally located and lots of places could be within walking distance. The hotel staff are courteous and extremely helpful. Although the room could have been better but the staff sure made the difference. Overall it is a very pleasant stay. Absolutely love Vancouver:)

Comforts of Home

After a long business day it was wonderful to return to the comforts of this hotel. The room was always, clean, fresh and inviting, not to mention the comfy bed. Even in the heart of the city, the noise was held out for restful sleep. Staff were pleasant and helpful always able to answer my questions for getting around the city.

Conveniently located right off the skytrain station with ease access to tourist sites alongside with many great restaurants nearby.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Don’t travel with Air Canada if you are traveling for business. Counter staff of Air Canada won’t put me on stay-by even the flight was half empty. I ending up waited at the airport for 5 hours.

Westin Vancouver, BC

Hotel and service were superb, convenient to shopping and dining. Grabbing a taxi is no problem to get around the city or down to the pier and convention center.

Lot’s of eateries and pubs down near the pier. Try TC Lion’s Pub, you can eat outside in the summer. Great atmosphere and food.

Nice; had to wait to get in, but overall service and accomodations were good.

Very satisfied

For 2 adults and 2 teenagers, a one BR suite was comfortable. We were very pleased. It met our expectations for a 4 star hotel. A tv was available in the bedroom, as well as doors that close for privacy, and a tv for the common area. The "kitchenette" was just enough---microwave, refrig, sink, with utensils, etc. The hotel’s location was perfect. Convenient to everything---shopping, dining, walking, transportation. Would be happy to stay there again.

Service above and beyond

The staff at this hotel were suberb, anwering all our questions and requests quickly and efficiently or, in some cases, anticipating our needs and suggesting solutions. The hotel is in a great location, so that lots of attractions were within walking distance. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

We most enjoyed riding the gondola up Grouse Mountain, and riding bikes around the seawall in Stanley Park - lots of fun, and easy enough for our young children.

Would love to stay here again

On our first visit to Vancouver, we struck gold with the Westin Grand. Our room was well appointed with a lovely view and the hotel was conveniently located for walking to different areas of interest. Courteous, helpful staff added to our overall enjoyment. If we’re ever in Vancouver again, we would love to stay here again!

Try the oven-roasted rib tips...salty but very tasty. We same them on lots of menus (usually as an appetizer)...seems to be a Vancouver thing.

Won’t stay here again

We’re the type that aren’t hard to please so I’m sad to say that we will not stay at the Westin Grand again. We had notified the hotel that it was our honeymoon and when we got into our room not only was it oddly shaped with very little room, it was right next to the elevator, service elevator, AND ice machine; definitely not worth the money we paid. They then upgraded us to a room with more space and a balcony but would not offer any discount for the upgrade whatsoever. They didn’t even comp our chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our first night on our honeymoon. The elevators were absolutely horrible! Prepare to wait 5-10 minutes for an elevator. The restaurant, Aria, has good food and a great continental breakfast. Make sure to get Jesse as your server if you go. You get a lot more than other hotels’ continental breakfasts. And in the summer they include eggs, hashbrowns, bacon etc on top of the basic danishes, bagels, fruit, etc. Mayra at the front desk is the person to go to for suggestions on restaurants etc. She was great! The location of the hotel is ideal. If you’re looking for a place to sleep with a good location I would recommend this hotel but it’s definitely overpriced for what you get.... certainly do NOT stay here for a special occasion.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Yaletown, Gastown, and Stanley Park are all walking distance. Tons of restaurants and shopping are close by as well. A trip to the ferries (to get to Victoria) will take you about 40 minutes. The ferry to Victoria will take another 1.5 hours. To get to downtown Victoria will take you another 30 minutes. If you’re looking to do Victoria (which I highly recommend) you’ll have to plan a full day’s worth!

A short stay in a sweet hotel

The hotel check-in was painless. The room was clean and the view was amazing. When I first slept in the bed, the AC was set to extremely cold and I wasn’t aware of this so having the down comforter on the bed made it quite comfortable and very warm the first night. The shower and tub were also appreciated as were the jaccuzzi outside and steam room they have. Upon leaving, checking out was also painless. A simple "I need to check out" and then giving them my room number was all that was necessary and I was finished. Do be warned. Bring along a credit card with an extra $140-$150 in room as they will put a security deposit hold on it. Make sure its money you don’t, or won’t, need to use. Other than that, this hotel was beautiful and if I make another trip up, I will definitely look for here first.

Positive Vote for the Westin

The Westin staff was attentive and responsive, assisting me freely when I had a health concern. The room was lovely and the building well maintained. We did not eat on site, fitting breakfast foods into the mini-bar refrigerator and eating at the many local eateries. It wasa well located hotel in walking distance (if an enthusiastic walker) of Stanley Park and certainly of the waterfront.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Expect traffic and try not to drive or look for street parking during evening rush hour. Wi-Fi is available free at the library to visitors and many local coffee shops.

Would stay here again.

Nice comfortable room, included a mini-bar with sink, some dishes, utensils and dish towels. No trouble sleeping with the heavenly bed. Walking distance to shopping areas and restaurants. Just 2 elevators, though, which was frustrating at times.
