Perfect Location

This hotel was clean, nice hot breakfast, fun pool for the kids, next door to a great restaurant, Quivey’s Grove and the location was perfect for us. It is near the start of many great bike trails, quaint nearby towns and close enough to Madison. We definitely plan to return.

Clean but noisy

From appearances, this hotel is first class. Being somewhat new, there was no sign of wear and tear from the front desk to the rooms themselves. Unfortuanately, our room was on the first floow and during the ngith, we could hear every footstep taken above us. If that weren’t bad enough, the main drain for the hotel was right behind the wall where my wife’s head as positioned. Not a very restless night, but if we go back, we’ also go up.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Madison

The hotel is relatively new, so the facilities are very good. The chlorine in the pool area was devastating. My wife and I were unable to use the facilities because of the attack on our nasal passages. The hotel was full of little kids during our stay (birthday parties and youth athletic travel, I think). This hotel is not for those who want adults only.

Traveler's tip on dining

There is a very good restaurant less than 100 yards from the hotel. It is in an old stone farm house. I believe the name is something like Quivey’s Grove.

Nice getaway place. Excellent staff.

This is a relatively new place away from all the busy action downtown Madison brings, yet accessible by a 15 minute drive. It is a great place for couples or families. You will arrive to a small but inviting lobby with candy and apples up for grabs. Complimentary breakfast includes cheese omelets, sausage, and waffles. All rooms are equipped with fridge and microwave. Free Wi-Fi.The only problem we had was convincing our daughter to leave the super kiddie friendly pool area. I will definitely stay here again.

They have all kinds of brochures for local attractions which we used to plan last minute activities. We visited Cave of the Mounds which is open year-round. The Henry Vilas Zoo (free attraction) is 15 minutes away. Hotel staff is always happy to recommend places nearby.

Away from the hub-bub

It’s conveniently located to Madison, and yet it has a country feel. The room was pleasantly spacious, the parking was within a few feet of the front door, and the service was very friendly and attentive. The pool area, with a large whirlpool and water slide area, was lovely and sunny.

Good value

Have stayed at the Radisson by the mall and the Days Inn previously. While those were fine, I prefer the Country Inn. It is quieter than the others, a little cheaper than the Radisson, and offered very good comp. breakfast.

Traveler's tip on dining

Excellent dining in the Madison-Verona-Fitchburg area. Try Pancake cafe about 2 blocks from motel. Mi Cocina for authentic mexican fare.

Family with small child from Chicago

This hotel is great for families. We have a 9-month old and anticipated spending a lot of time inside the hotel because of nap schedules. The room was perfect: King-size bed was off to the side of the room which produced a lot of free-space for crawling around and movement in general, without feeling cramped. Pool with hot tub & kids area (sprinklers/slides) was the best I’ve ever seen in any hotel for this price. Sure breakfast was high on carbs, but how can you ask for more when the convenience and price factor are this good. Anyway, if breakfast doesn’t suit you in their dining area, you can walk over to Pancake Cafe (fantastic breakfast & lunch menu). Overall we’re really pleased with this hotel and would definitely go back. It was ~8miles from downtown Madison and off a main road.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Check out the arboretum -- gorgeous at this time of year. Target is close to the hotel.

very convenient

With your help, we were able to find a ’first class’ motel very close to the hospital where we were visiting a relative. Thanks!

Quiet Place to Rest

Pretty uneventful which is how I like my business travel. Staff was generally pleasant although early morning desk help was surely. (who wouldn’t be at 6 AM?) Overall very nice, clean and comfortable.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Easy Internet Service, allowing a VPN connection which most business travellers need any more.

Nice stop for families

This hotel is a stop for families. The pool area is great with two different smaller pools each with playground equip and spraying spouts. The kids loved it. The hot tub is quite small but nice even still. The rooms were fine for the what you pay and all of the hotel workers were very kind and helpful (such as late check out, directions etc). My main criticism was the breakfast. They had a ton of sugar and carbs. Period. The eggs and sausages were frozen and had to be nuked in order to have them edible. Otherwise you were stuck with sugary waffles, sugary cereal or backed sugar laden muffins. Some yogurt and fresh fruit would have been nice as well as a "real" hot breakfast for those of us who try to eat healthy. Other than that, very nice hotel. recommended for families-

about 15 minutes away is both a children’s science musuem as well as a chuckee cheese- both recommended for the little ones!

Nice comfortable place

The hotel was very nice and the staff was great. You’ve got to see the pool setup they’ve got here. Oversized hot tub, a play pool for the kids with a playset in it, and a regular swimming pool. Nice. Also have a great restaurant next door for excellent food or drinks!

Great for kids

The staff was extremely accomodating. The pool area was great for my toddlers, with the slide pool area being shallow. We were able to use the dining room for takeout dinner, so we had access to high chairs etc. Very happy with our stay!
