NOT IMPRESSED AND VERY DISPOINTED AND IMPORTANT TO READ

I HAD REQUESTED A NONSMOKING ROOM AND TO BE CLEAN CAUSE OF AN ASMATIC CHILD, THE ROOM SMELLED VERY BAD, WE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TOWLES FOR OUR TWO DAY TRIP, AT TWO DIFFERENT TIMES WE RAN OUT OF HOT WATER, THE COVER ON THE BEDS SMELLED BAD, THE TUB HAD A DARK STAIN IN IT NOT FOR SURE IF IT WAS STAIN OR SOAP SCUM, WE SAW 3 ROACHES IN THE ROOM, WE ASK FOR EXTRA COFFEE FOR OUR ROOM AND THEY WAS OUT, THERE WAS NOT ANY LAUNDRY BAGS WITH THE IRONING BOARD AND ONLY 2 EXTRA TRASH BAGS, THE FLOOR HAD PILES OF DIRT AND ON DUST ON THE EDGES, AND UPON LEAVING GIVING OUR ROOM NUMBER IT WASNT IN MY NAME HOW SCARY IS THAT. AND THE PARKING LOT IS NOT ENOUGH LIGHT

Pretty good, overall

This hotel is conveniently located and is a pretty good bargain. However, it is very inconvenient that there is no food available on site, whatsoever. You have to go off-campus to get something to eat. Furthermore, my room was cold and they didn’t have an extra blanket to give to me. The room did not seem to have been thoroughly cleaned, either.

Uncomfortable beds and no cleaning service - NOT recommended

This is the worst hotel ever! We arrived very late in the morning and had to yell several times to get service, when boyfriend had to knock on door for service. 1st room we got in the Air conditioning was broke and room Smelled. Got new room and it was a handicap room (not needed). While there for 2 days NO cleaning of rooms or new towels. Last day internet went down and was told to call the techs ourselves to have it fixed. NOT appropriate. Bed was like sleeping on a rock! Handicap room bathtub too high to climb out of.

Extended stay = Don’t expect service

The staff was nice, the price was good...but that’s about all that was positive. I understand extended stay hotels don’t offer daily cleaning--but there are some things that you really need daily. How about checking to see if I have enough t.p.? Check the trash cans? They were overflowing by the time I left. This hotel offers a nice kitchenette--but a) there are only 2 plates, cups, knives, etc with no dish soap and a tiny trashcan. How does one cook more than once with no dish soap and a tiny trash can? They did not provide enough essentials to merit the reduced service/housekeeping. Then we have the bathroom. Drain was clogged and shower head was painfully slow. That feels like standing in other people’s dirt and then not having enough water pressure to wash it off. Towel holder kept falling off the wall. It was kind of comical. Other than the free (if not very slow) wi-fi, the experience is very similar to camping.

Extended Stay Hotel

I found this hotel very good for an extended stay. The room had a full size refrigerator, stove top and microwave. High speed internet and cable TV were included. There is coffee but no breakfast.

The staff was extremely helpful. The room was perfect. I will be going back to stay there in a couple weeks.

An off-smell and noisy

The hotel seems OK, overall, but the room had an odd, off-smell, like something wasn’t quite fresh or clean. And in a time when bedbugs are a problem everywhere, I was surprised that the mattress had no protection, except a flimsy cloth cover, which didn’t even cover the entire mattress. Sound travels very well between the rooms and from the hall and it is hard to get a good night’s sleep.

Not suites!

This is a fine, basic, fairly new hotel. I would just take "suites" out of the name. A basic hotel room with a refrigerator in one corner does not constitute a suite to me! There are no multiple-room suites at this property.

helpful staff

I had received incorrect directions from an online map site. When I called the hotel, the staff member was extremely helpful in getting me back on track, and stayed on the line until he was sure I reached the hotel. (Luckily, i was close by!!!) He went out of his way to be helpful and pleasant. I was very pleased with the hotel.

Will stay again

Visited daughter at Christopher Newport University. This was a great place to stay.

Good place to stay. Was very clean and the hotel staff were very halpful and nice. I really enjoyed the stay.

Left a day early

HOtel staff was pleasant, but banging and pounding noise from room above ours, required consecutive midnight visits to hotel check in desk to request they speak to people staying in the room. There was loud music blaring from a car stereo with an earth shaking bass system at a drinking party with about a dozen guys in the hotel parking lot one evening.

The hotel room had a microwave, fridge, stovetop and couple cable channels, that’s all I needed :). The bathroom was clean but the towels left alot of lint. Target is nearby so you can get your own towels if you want :)

Excellent location

This hotel is located conveniently to many restaurants, a 20-screen movie theater, and all sorts of attractions (although Busch Gardens, Water Country USA and Williamsburg are about 1/2 hour north of this hotel). The quality of the hotel is excellent and the price is reasonable. We have returned to this hotel twice in different years.

Will stay again!

The room was large enough that our family could hang out in the evening and not feel crowded. It is convenient to the airport, military base, shopping, resturants as well as Williamsburg, Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas. Great little winery near by, be sure to visit.

Extended stay hotel made our trip more affordable since we were able to eat breakfast and lunch in our room or keep food to picnic at the attractions we visited and not eat out at every meal.

Very pleasant experience

The hotel is ideally located. Close to shopping, the airport and easy access to the interstate and yet buffered from traffic noise. The check-in process was done with ease. The check-in clerk was most accomodating and patient in assigning me to a room. She was most empathetic to a weary traveler. The room was very spacious and clean. There was only one dissappointment. I am a coffee drinker in the morning and only coffee with cafeine was provided in the room. The package for the coffee only provided 2 packages of sugar and 2 creamers for a 4 cup pot of coffee. I prefer decaffinated coffee and would have loved to have had a choice. I also noted that the bathroom provisions were skimmpy...only shampoo and no complimentary lotion. Overall, for my purposes, it was a pleasant experience. I would return but I will have my own coffee,sugar and cream.

Unorganized

Our stay was for 2 nights. No one came in to clean and replace towels after first night. I had to go to desk to get fresh towels, wash cloths and a coffee packet. All that was said was, "My apologies". I felt a bit cheated of service and like no really cared. Otherwise, everything was clean and safe and well kept. Thank you.

Basic hotel

this hotel was clean and appropriate for what we wanted. We didn’t spend much time in the hotel nor did we require anything special. We had to check out early and no one was at the desk.

Room was nice, beds were to soft , no daily room service

Very nice and clean hotel, as the title states their was no daily room service, so if you needed trash taken out or towels you had to get them yourselves. Beds killed my back due to the softness of the mattress. Cost was reasonable for the area, which was a very nice part of Newport News. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area.

Stay local, Virginia is very good for traffic jams. Or leave to where you are going early.

Good place overall

I booked 2 rooms for 1 nite. Price was good and location was key for us.Checking in was a little time consuming. It seems the computer crashed right before we arrived. It happens. We went to our rooms , which I had asked to be side by side, they weren’t. I set up in my room and went to check the other room that my parents were in. The iron leaked water all over the board .I then spotted a cockroach on the wall under the window.Some of the outlets in the rooms didn’t work. Overall it looked clean and maintained, but be aware that there a few problems. I would probably stay again if I had to be in the area.
