Helpful Staff, Large Room and Bathroom, Fluffy Towels
We stayed at Hotel Correrra for 3 nights in October 2009. We were well aware of the location based on reviews we had read, but it was still a litle disarming at first. Nevertheless, we had no problem with the neighborhood during our stay. We walked or rode the train/subway everywhere we went, returned to the hotel after dark, and just took reasonable precautions that any traveler should take to ensure safety. The room itself was very big and the bathroom was enormous, both uncommon for affordable hotels in Italy. Toiletries and decent towels were also provided daily, another perk that is not the standard in a budget hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, the free wi-fi worked great for us (even in our room), and the noise from the alley was tolerable and not unusual for Italy where everyone seems to ride a scooter. Naples is an unusual city that is difficult to navigate even with a map, but we found the hotel location to be convenient for the places we wanted to visit. We also found it to be a good home base for our day trip to Pompei. If youre scared of dark alleys and being surrounded by locals, dont stay here. If you want to experience a taste of the real Naples, I would recommend this hotel for anyone.

Very Hip but Noisy Hotel in Naples, Italy
We stayed at Hotel Correra 241 in Naples before leaving the country. Its located in or close to Chiaia area and the port. The ride to the airport was only 15 minutes at 6:00 am. The hotel is very modern, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious. However, our room overlooked Via Correra. The noise from bar-hoppers at night went well after 2 am - no sleep at all before the international flight. The problem is with their single-pane, poorly-insulated windows. So, this room was only for those who can sleep through a hurricane. Another pet peeve - there were some young men (non-guests) visiting the front desk clerk at night - loitering around the lobby, using internet, watching TV. This was uncomfortable. Advice for travelers - come to Naples only to spend the night before the flight. Compared to areas we visited earlier (Tuscany, Amalfi Coast), Naples is not a good destination.

Good Hotel - so-so location.
I cant really say anything bad about the hotel itself - the staff was great, the room was a nice size for the four of us and they had a computer with internet access (free). My only gripe would be with the location. It is down a small street that is very typical Naples. Even though it was a small street, there were enough Vespas wizzing by keep us up most of the night. I suggest staying in a room that doesnt face the street. The location is central, but not really near anything exciting (except the Archeological Museum). Shopping and restaurants are nearby and we were able to walk to the ship terminal (still a long walk).
