Fine hotel in an excellent location
The Marie Rodos is well maintained and has very nice furnishings. Even as a single traveler they gave me a large room with a view out to the Aegean. There was an excellent breakfast buffet with a large variety of choices. The location could not have been better. The hotel was just across the street from the Casino and close to the beach. From the hotel you could walk to the old fortified city in less than fifteen minutes with its ages of history and excellent restaurants. The harbor from which the tour boats leave for island excursions is even closer than the old city and makes a very interesting walk on the way to dinner. I could not have been more pleased with the hotel and the very helpful staff.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Be absolutely certain to explore the old city with its endless narrow curving streets lined with most interesting sights from the 2,500 years of history. Also its most interesting to walk the moat that surrounds the old town. From this you can view the fortifications defended by the knights from the various Crusader countries. It also makes an excellent outing to rent a motor bike and head out along the coast to visit the Crusader castles and pretty villages.
