Fun Stay
The attached bar is popular with the locals. Some nights there’s comedy, other nights a live band, and City Hotel guests receive either free entry or a significant break depending on the entertainment. We enjoyed ourselves. As for our room: We didn’t realize we had a suite. It was quite spacious. However, for some reason the room lighting was ridiculously dim. It seemed like there were 25 watt bulbs in every lamp. So the spaciousness and the poor lighting combined to create an effect I can only call "cavernous." It was weird.

We’ve been to Greenville twice. The people there are so friendly it’s almost like a Twilight Zone episode.

The clerk asked us what floor we preferred, always a great way to start your visit. Our room appeared to have been recently "refreshed".

Unbelieveable Noise at Night in the Hallways
My only complaint concerns the noise levels in the hallways at night. I think I was booked on a floor with a large family with multiple members in various rooms attending some kind of function. All I heard for (2) nights was slamming doors and voices in the hallway. I think they checked out after the 2nd night, because I slept well my 3rd night. Either that, or I was so exhausted, I slept through whatever was going on out there! I would not recommend the hotel ONLY because there doesn’t appear to be any kind of soundproofing to whatever is going on out in the hall. Other than that, my room/bathroom were very clean, service was very good, and the location was good.
