not good

Staff was inconvienced by us checking in and out, i interupted their gossip session. The rooms were not clean upon entering and the halls had a strange smell.

Not impressed

I have stayed in this hotel with my family for two nights. The indoor pool is small and the waterslide looks old. There is no hairdryer and no wireless internet in the room. Even at the lobby, sometimes the wireless still has a problem. The breakfast is fine, nothing fancy. Front desk is friendly.

Plain but good

This hotel, while plain and not having the latest updates, was clean, well kept and had the promised amenities. The pool was clean, but constantly busy, due to the waterslide. Some families were not policing their children and this contributed to the chaos of the pool area. Staff, when alerted did their best to control the situation. We found the night desk staff to be very friendly and responsive, day staff a bit less so. The rooms were clean, albeit showing their age. Breakfast was decent (biscuits/gravy, cold cereal, muffins, toast, fresh fruit, coffee, milk and juices)and the staff tried to stay on top of the food levels. Overall, this was a good choice for us as we wanted a clean place to sleep and a pool for relaxing and this is what we got. I would suggest making advance reservations as the staff said they are full most nights,especially during high tourist season, due to their proximity to Mt. Rushmore and other attractions. If you are looking for a clean place to stay with a pool and basic amenities this is a good choice. If you are looking for turn-down service and four star amenities,keep looking!

Kids loved the pool/waterslide

The entertainment of the waterslide in the pool made it all worth it for the kids.

Never again!!

Our first room had blood on the mattress and cover-we were switched to another room which was not much better- we had to turn off the AC because of the mold growing inside it which gave the room a bad smell- the sheets were thin and pillows unsatisfactory- the carpet in the room and hallway was filthy and smelled and the bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned- film covered it. This hotel needs a complete renovation to make it acceptable for anyone to ever sleep there.

Best Service

This hotel had the best staff that I have ever met. They wanted to do anything and everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The only problem was that this hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Our bathroom door was coming apart and the toilet rocked when you sat on it.

Not Impressed

First room was terrible, very shabby and dirty. Second room was cleaner at least. Will not stay there again.

Well situated yet in great need of cleaning and renovation

The motel was well situated next to the freeway with easy access to Mnt Rushmore and Badlands national park. However, that is about the only positive about this motel. It was not clean. When we arrived for instance there was no soap or shampoo nor sufficient towels. There was still coffee in the coffeemaker (in fact during our 3 day stay this was never emptied!). The sink and bathtub still had the soap stains and hair of the previous hotel guests. The toilet was not clean either. The last night our room was not even made up! What put us off most was seeing the personnel folding the clean towels in the hallway on the floor! Overall, the hotel is a great need of a renovation. The furniture is old, the mattress was terrible. The breakfast area only had a 4 tables and as a result you had to eat in your room as there was not sufficient seating available.

Wasnt expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised

Our room was clean and good sized. The pool is small and crowded due to the waterslide, but our boys had a great time. The only down point wasnt due to the hotel but kids that didnt follow the rules. The breakfast area was also crowded but offered a nice selection.

Big Dissappointment

Rude and unwelcoming staff....bugs found in our bed and bathroom....blankets had stains on them....the refridgerator provided in our room did not work properly and consisted of a very foul odor and had a jug of milk that did not belong to us....need I say more? You will regret staying at this one!
