OK hotel if you get a deal
The Fairfield Inn is in a good location near the mall, but the parking lot is very small and the property could use a little updating. The staff is friendly and the service was OK (we did not eat the free breakfast so have no comment on that). Perkins is right across the street. It is an OK hotel if you can get a good price on the room.

I just wish the rates were a little more reasonable because I would like to stay here often when i visit. Then will be 6-7 times a year.

It’s not a Marriott
The service was very good and customer focused. The facility was showing it’s age and needed updating and a good cleaning. The cleaning crew should have someone following up. Our room had some debris from a prior guest.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The hotel is across the street from a number of restaurants and the Mall. We attended the air show, which was only a couple of miles from the hotel. One of the big attractions in Duluth is Lake Superior and the "Canal area". The Fairfield Inn is less expensive then the hotels on the Canal, however, you don’t have the view or easy access.
