Can’t breathe!!
I understand that expedia cannot assure that we receive a non-smoking room even though requested, but when we got there and got into a smoking room, we requested a change to a non-smoking one and we were told that the hotel was booked up. To our dismay, we returned to the room later that night around 1 am in the morning to find out that not even half of the rooms in the hotel were even in use. This was very displeasing to sleep in a smoking room when we didn’t have to sleep in one. Very unhappy customers.

Pleasant surprise
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We have found in our travels that the general rule of thumb is if the room rate is very, very affordable, then it means a dirty, run down hotel with no amenities. This hotel was well attended in every way. The grounds were kept up and attractive, the common areas were clean and attractive. The rooms were very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. Plenty of amenities, and a full selection of breakfast items, all as part of the very reasonable room rate.

Hotel is easily accessible; a large selection of restaurants near by; beautiful view of the mountains; close to all local attractions.

Great hotel for the rates.
This was a nice hotel for the rate we paid. The room was clean and comparable to the more expensive hotels in the area. The only drawback was the noise levels from the street. I would therefore recommend that you call the hotel and request a room on the back (pool) side of the hotel, which, by the way, is the side with the wonderful view. The noise may be the reason for the low rates. Also, bring your own iron, or request one from the management. They will promptly bring one to your room.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Lots of things to do in the area. The Andre Viette Grounds are beautiful (the famous perennial gardener)and winery in the area.Also, good fishing on the river in Waynesboro and at Sharando Lake. Millers pond (stocked) is a great place to take your children to fish, the children WILL catch fish.
