as a family of 6 staying in NY for just 4 nights over New Years we chose this hotel based upon price and location rather than comfort (choice based upon previous reviews). the hotel was located perfectly for everything we wanted to do/see and we were hardly in the room other than to sleep so the lack of comfort and cleanliness was not a big issue to us. i would say that we chose right based upon our priorities but, if you are going to book this location, be aware AND PREPARED TO ACCEPT it’s shortcomings.

Disappointed
This hotel is a fly by night operation who has contracted with apartment owners in the city to rent to naieve travelers. The ceiling was buckling and cracking and an extremely poor patching job made it worse. The floor was the same and from the looks of didn’t trust not walking around without shoes unless you wanted to catch something. Same with the shower; didn’t drain effeciently, tiles cracked and falling, the couch had all kinds of stains. Most of the lights didn’t work. Bathroom mirror had dangerous sharp edges and falling its support rail. Definitely not worth the money.

Better to pay a little more for something twice as nice.

Lots of space, low price, but you get what you pay for
This is an older building that is currently under complete renovation. A few of the unrenovated units have been leased out. You can see why they needed renovation! There is lots of space, and if need multiple rooms the price is a deal. The building is being worked on so corridors are ripped up and elevator service erratic. The unit really needs to be fixed up so expect rust, mold and ratty furniture. The bed was comfortable, and the television worked. Don’t expect much more than that.
