Dorm Living that works
Dublin City University offers dorm living that works. My room had its own bathroom. The beds were small, as was the room, but it worked. There was a common kitchen area with a fridge and a microwave and it was pretty quiet. Theres a grocery store on campus and several small shops across the street. Getting into town by bus was very easy. I had to swipe my room key at two other doorways before I got to my room.

Stay Away from the Dorm Room
There is not a "hotel" at or near the university; they are literally renting out tiny dorm rooms for the same price we paid for B&Bs. No washcloths, no phone, no tv, no breakfast, and a horrible mattress that you feel every spring poking some part of you while trying to sleep. Its a 25 minute walk to restaurants. Our shower flooded our entire bathroom...stay away!

Not worth the price.
We assumed we would be staying in a hotel AT the University, not IN it. Had we known that we would be staying in a DORM we would have spent less money and stayed in a hostel! Go somewhere else, anywhere else. We were very disappointed and will never stay here again. Of our 10 day trip to Ireland, this was the worst choice. The only thing good about staying here was its proximity to Temple Bar and the Airport.
