I would stay again but condo unit must be closer to beach.
Stayed at the Wailea Elua Village for 1 week in a 2bdm 2 bth garden wiew 3/25-4/1/09. Had large lanai w/BBQ, nice kitchen, W/D, A/C & condo itself was good. First 4 days was a condo near street, very noisey traffic & late nite construction. Distance to Ulua beach downhill 7 min walk with small beach chairs,etc. slight workout,walking back uphill less than pleasurable. Club house down at beach side was very nice, has refrigerators, microwaves & conventional ovens, BBQs, lounge chairs,tables & umbrellas, clean uncrowded pool and a few parking spots if walking the distance is too far with beach gear. Expedia & Destination Resorts eventually provided a unit away from street down the hill & closer to beach more doable walk but still a hike uphill w/beach gear. The overall was good however would be great with a closer room to the beach.Kitchen helpful& cooked fresh fish & shrimp on BBQ. Shops at Wailea almost walking distance (if not in blazing heat). Has an i-crm shop,coffee shop,small restaurants, jewelry & clothing shops.
Find local Maui fresh fish markets for BBQ. Cosco has fresh fruits /veg, Walmart, Kmart have everything. Black Rock in Ka’anapali some free parking. Kapalua Bay may be calm for snorkel.Iao Needle easy path scenic,lavender farm upcountry, Tedeshi Vinyards Mauiwines,farmers markets local fruits/veg,etc.Possibly see sunrise at Haleakala, drive Hana, lavender farm & Tedeshi Vineyards if ambitious in 1 day.Rent SUV., water/pack snacks camera. Mail souvineers & no anguish @ airport. Hang loose!

looked a little ragged
We stayed in a condo that had everything we needed and was, basically, very nice. However, it was in dire need of a fresh coat of paint and the carpet was badly stained. The stains were bad enough to be a major distraction and are what prompted me to do this survey.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Get directions to the rental office before you leave. I knew to do this because an Expedia review mentioned it.

50 th Ann. Trip
Expedia does not provide any directions to the rental office. WE had to call the office and drive around looking for the office which is in the basement of some shops. Once we got to our condo we were more than satified with the place. Great facilities, Greta beach, Great snorkeling?
Traveler's tip on dining
To eat out is very expensive, $90 for pizza for 5 people. Find the Safeway and cook out on your own grill.
