Great value for such a low price

convenient location, great value, I will choose this motel again next time I travel to Monterey

One of the worst

The carpet in the room was dirty enough to black out our feet. The ceiling was cardboard thin that you could hear all the noise and the thumps. The "continental" breakfast hr was 8-10. When I got there at 8:10, it was only a piece left of pre packed pastry (no one was filling up), half loaf of bread (butter only, no jellies), no milk and a 30 min-s long line for a waffle maker. EAch of the guests were making an average of 2-3 waffles. The person in front of me make 4 waffles! I will not recommend this hotel.

There’s a Denny’s right across the street, that’s where my husband got his breakfast after losing his patience.

Very nice, condsidering the low cost.

Rooms were clean, fresh and in very nice condition. I have stayed in better motels in this are for more money and worse for a lot more money. I give it 5 stars for the cost which was reasonalble for that area.

Good value hotel

The room was clean and comfortable. And the price was right! The complimentary breakfast and free wi-fi certainly added to the value for the price.

Good for what it is

The room was clean and reasonably comfortable for the price. Some of the staff does not speak English well. The business center is a PC without a printer. This made it impossible to print boarding passes for my return flight. While one sign said free internet use, they also had another charging a fee at intermittent times. Breakfast was quite simple but having 2 small tables and 4 chairs made it difficult to eat near the food. A second waffle maker would be a good addition too. For the price in the area, it was good enough for two nights.

Nice hotel at a decent price

We chose this hotel based on price and the overall look of the grounds. It is a decent hotel with good service. The continental breakfast included was a nice touch. Although it was a very small selection of foods (no fresh fruit, for example) they did have a make your own waffle machine which was worth it! As for the rooms, ours appeared clean and the addition of a microwave and fridge was a bonus. The room however had a funny smell - would be better to air it out more and maybe steam clean the carpet more often.

Clean & Convenient

Picked this location due to proximity to fairgrounds. Since we went for special event, we could walk to and fro without the hassle of driving & parking the car. Value priced, older property that is well kept up, with clean and comfortable rooms. Walking proximity to dining establishments and nightclub activity.

Good for the price

This motel was clean and well-maintained. It offered a pool, free parking and maid service daily. It isn’t the most beautiful place to stay in, but it was good enough for us. After walking around all day, all you want to do is shower and sleep. This place is perfect for that! If you are more into a view and luxe amenities, this is not the place for you. If you just want a clean place to sleep, go for it!! It is only about 10-15 minutes from Cannery Row.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Definitely check out the Aquarium and 17 mile drive! If you love golf, like my husband, you will love getting into Pebble Beach. If you love the ocean, like me, you will be breathless looking at the sites on the course. The aquarium is huge and beautiful as well.

Comfy Hotel, Great Price

The room my girlfriend and I were in wasn’t very big but it was very comfortable. We didn’t need something too big and it was a great deal. It’s in a great area, close to restaurants, a bowling alley, gas stations, and right off of Highway 1. We were very happy with our stay

Not impressed.

There was not ample parking. Bed was not queen size, only a double bed. Breakfast was to late in starting, it did not start till 8am. Which was to late for us. On Sunday when checking out lobby had a terrible smell. The bar next to hotel had an after hours party that was to loud, and kept us awake. And price was to high. The hotels need to stop with the high prices, during week of Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance car show.

Nice place to rest your head at night.

the staff was helpful with directions & selling tickets to the aquarium. The room had 2 queen beds & a twin. We were only expecting 2 queens. My two young children loved having their own beds. They have internet access in the lobby for a reasonable fee.

Clean rooms in a decent area

Not far from the Monterey Bay, this motel is clean with comfortable beds and quiet area. This is more than enough for a good night sleep in a great town.

Monterey Bay is only 5 minutes from the motel and 10 minutes to Carmel and surrounding cities.

Not real impressive

Hotel was older with small rooms. Remote did not work but someone came and fixed it within 10 minutes of me reporting it. Overall, about what you’d expect for the money in Monterey.

Nice room for the price!

We had a great time in Monterey! We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and we enjoyed the stay. The first night we didn’t have a small table in the room, but Richard fixed that when he asked a maintenance man if we could have one from another room. Sorry! So it was musical tables. We had waffles for breakfast the first couple days, just wish they had more flavor. Overall I would recommend a stay at this hotel, especially for the price.

For the Price - You CAN’T Beat it

It was a comfortable room - with a small fridge and microwave. The continental breakfast started our day off great. And they also have an indoor heated pool - and if you have children you’ll know what a life saver that it. Enjoy!

decent place to stay

I am more of a four star person myself, but we decided to stay here for our overnight trip to Monterey. Our kids loved the indoor pool, and it was nice, as we were the only ones there for awhile (we stayed during the week). The motel had a fridge and microwave, which we used, so that was nice. I would probably stay closer to the beach next time, but this place was not too bad for a one night stay.

Great room for the price!

I was actually expecting something worse after reading a few previous reviews. I stayed in the back 2nd floor with 2 queen beds. Big enough for the 4 of us, and clean! It had a microwave and a fridge. A little stale of smell but the bathroom had granite and it was nice. My 3 year old son loved the pool. Convenient location, Dennys is across the street short drive to downtown. Great room for the price. Would stay here again.

We have been here many times and still find something new that we love everytime. This time we went to Jersey Monterey Cheese steaks on Cannery Row. Great food and service. Awsome salads and steaks. Great prices too.

Good Hotel Stay

We had a pleasant hotel stay over a holiday weekend. The room was comfortable and a nice place to relax and sleep after an evening of walking about Monterey.

OK hotel room for the money it costs

We stayed in this hotel because it was the only one in town that had an indoor pool. The room was comfortable enough, but old and smelled somewhat of stale cigarettes. Worth it if you’re not expecting any "extras".

I was a little nervious

This was my first time booking a room through a third party and after reading the reviews "after booking" i must say i was a nervious reck. To my surprise upon pulling in,the outer interior was pleasent and when we entered into the room i was relieved "a lil cold" to see the it was a cozy room for the price,hot showers,clean frig,convinent microwave in the room. A room is what you make of it and we made it our own for the time being there. The reviews are each persons own experience because we had a great time and everything was located close by. The weather was great the beaches were beautiful and the clam chowered on fishersman wharf was the best ever. Sincerely, The Strother Family

noisy environment

My room was right next to the neighboring dance club which was playing loud music all night long. If you must stay in this place, be sure to request a room away from the dance club. The room didn’t have shampoo and soap. I had to go to the front desk to get them.

Easy nights rest for days of play in Monterey

Upgrade the beds, and you have a great product.

Cheapest Monterey Hotel

Rented two nights, I didn’t expect a fridge and microwave in that range of price so that was nice, however the shower plumbing even though it seemed new was the worst experience of bad water flow I ever had. The bed cover had a cigarette burn hole even though I was in a non smoking room. It’s very decent for a hotel of this price range though.
