Hotel Okay, Staff Not So Much!
I stayed at this property while attending a national convention for my company. The room was good other than the alarm clock was totally dead, but I have an iPhone, so the missing alarm clock was not a factor. I was under the impression that I would have free wireless internet, which is one of the reasons I chose this property and I was informed after check in that I would have to pay because I didnt have a king all inclusive package...still not sure what that is! I guess my biggest disappointment was the staff. I am in a customer service industry and to me there is simply no excuse for paid employees to be indifferent or rude to their customers. In this economy, they are lucky to have a job at all. I found the staff to be unsatisfactory through my entire five night stay. I never saw a smile, a thank you or a pleasant comment the entire time I was there. If you are looking for an affordable place to stay in the National Harbor area, this is a good choice, just do not have high expectations about the customer service you will receive or not receive.
Traveler's tip
Cabs are outrageously expensive...my cab fares to the Gaylord National Harbor where my convention was held ranged from $8.75 to $15.00 for the same exact route...dont get that at all! I would recommend sharing a cab with others in the hotel if you are going to a common destination.

Smelled Like Bug Spray
There was an overpowering smell in the lobby and room as though they had just sprayed for bugs. The clerk at the desk was on what was obviously s personal phone call which she continued for several minutes while I waited. She held up a finger in acknowledgement. I had to pick up my own towels the 2nd night of my stay and became concerned about men loitering outside the building my 3rd night. Consequently I cut my trip short and contacted Expedias customer service. They were fabulous.
