just what we needed
We booked in at La Plantacion after staying in a horrible hotel in the northern side on the island, so it was like coming to paradise. Just what we needed. You felt like you were in the tropics walking in. We were offered a glass of champagne on arrival. Service was exceptional in all parts of the hotel. They don’t let you lift a finger. Music over the weekend but it is very tasteful and ends at 11pm if you don’t want too late a night. We had a side view, but it was pretty much a full view of the sea to us. Big balcony, big room, big bathroom. Wonderful pool area with comfortable chairs and a few "beds" under canopies if you snag them early enough. Breakfast was included which offered loads of selections. Food at buffet for dinner is pricey but the other restaurant is reasonable and many restaurants nearby along the water. Even had fireworks two nights while there. Our only regret is that we didn’t book in here for our whole holiday.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Fly into the southern airport if possible, it is closer and will save you money. It is on a hill and the beach and restaurants are below, but not a bad walk. We did it every night for dinner.

Great Staff and Stuff
The Staff is great and they solved inmediatly little problems that we had when checked in. The hotel is far from the beach but pools and sundeck facilities are great and make you lazy to go to the beach.
