Great location and friendly staff

The hotel location was great for our casual DC weekend. Good restaurants are right outside or a few moments walk away, and a small supermarket/deli and a CVS ensure you can stock up on your own snacks and drinks - advisable because the minibar prices are quite high. The Dupont Circle Metro stop is a few moments walk away, making getting around via Metro quite easy. We also walked to Georgetown, which is a good 20 minute walk away. The hotel room wasn’t large, but the bed was very comfortable and the room was well appointed. The hotel decor is upscale for its price point, and the wine cocktail reception every evening is a welcome touch. The front desk staff was efficient, helpful and very pleasant. Deandre took the time to look online for restaurants that served she-crab soup and printed out the menus for us. He was wonderful during our entire stay.

Sleep after 2 a.m. at this hipster hotel

We stayed 7-nights and didn’t sleep all the way through many of them. Avoid all rooms around the elevators. It’s a young crowd (both guests and staff), so expect midnight, 1 a.m., and 2 a.m. shouting in the hallways. The manager moved us to a room away from the elevator, but forgot about the room service credit that he offered. It’s fun to see lots of dogs in this pet friendly hotel. Avoiding the faux fur blankets helped us keep the flea bites to a minimum. The wine bar for guests in the evening is a nice touch, and the great Dupont Circle location is hard to beat. If you can handle the night noise, it’s a decent place.
