A Prime Spot In Paradise
The hotel is perfectly located. The view from the balcony is hard to beat. The staff was very helpful. They had to be, since most of the signs and stuff were written in Japanese and Chinese. The beds are designed for the Asian tourist. Small and hard.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
If youre into sight seeing I would suggest half day car rentals at the hotel. You can easily see everything on the island in one day trip. After that, Freedom Air offers low priced, daily flights between the islands and rental cars are available at the airports on Tinian and Rota for excursions on those islands. If you are not into big crowds and just want to enjoy perfect weather and beautiful scenery, I think the Northern Mariana Islands are the United States best kept secret.

The bed is a killer! Hotdogs for breakfast?
The Grand was an acceptable stay. However, the majority of the clientele appeared to be Japanese (which is to be expected in this region), so naturally Japanese tastes are adhered to. The bed was incredibly hard and only had one pillow. The staff brought us extras very quickly. No washcloths are provided, either. The bath does come with Japanese-style dispensers of shampoo, rinse, and bath gel. The other amenities are standard. The room had a number of water stains on the floor and walls. The one restaurant was Japanese-inspired. Breakfast was geared toward the Japanese palate. Luke-warm, watery scrambled eggs and hotdogs (instead of breakfast sausage) were available. On the brighter side we felt like we had the entire hotel to ourselves. The pool was totally ours along with the beach for most of the trip. Snorkeling gear rentals are only $5. We also had affordable massages and car rentals on-site. A 24-hour donut/sandwich shop is just across the street. The hotel is not in the busiest part of Saipan, but the location wasnt bad. I would stay there again just to have the peacefullness, but I might try to request a real American-style mattress.

Rent a car from the Toyata office in the main lobby. Its cheap, and you can see most of the island in one day. You will need the car to get to Garapan, etc. to dine, shop, etc.
