Room Service not available
Room service came by our room at 7am...and we had do not disturb on the door....a note was left stating they had been by and would not be back if we did not contact them....we notified the front desk of our need for room to be clean..and the need for service, linens, etc..we returned late...and our room had not been cleaned..no linens..tolietries, etc. We did call the front desk and they brought towels. The staff at the front desk was nice, hotel beautiful, view great, but I never saw anyone cleaning rooms. We called several times for cleaning service to no avail. The two night stay was not a great experience due to this issue. Restaurant staff and food were great, but too expensive.
Traveler's tip on shopping
There are couple of unique shops on Artist Row that are fun. The homes and restaurants in the Summerville community are nice.

Nice Hotel, cant say as much for the area.
My girlfriend and I thought the hotel was great. Parking was easy, the room was decent and the the hotel bar and restaurant was good as well. I will say that we expected to be downtown in the middle of all the action but there wasnt really any action at all. Downtown was kind of in disrepair and the neighborhood seemed a little shady. The guy at the counter told us not to walk to a restaurant three blocks away because it was dark out. If you are just looking for a nice hotel though, and dont care about the surrounding area, this place was great.
Traveler's tip on nightlife
West of the 20 on Washington Rd. seemed to have a lot more going on at night. Not ideal since it was harder to get to places without driving but the places were a lot cleaner and there were a lot more people.

Comfortable & Conveniant
We stayed at this hotel while we attended the Augusta Southern National boat races. It was a good place to stay that was very close. This hotel was right on the river and a close walk to all things right downtown.
