Hesperia Tower Hotel

Disappointed

Our "late arrival guaranteed" non-smoking room was "not available" when we arrived @8 pm, & we had to insist on speaking to management in order to get the front desk attendant to give us a non-smoking room. Tired and bleary-eyed from our flights, it was not a pleasant experience to have to create a stir to get what we had already been charged for. Also, note that room keys are required to activate lights in the room, so request more than one key. The room itself was OK, but not worth the trouble. Another thing, re:their airport shuttle, no one we encountered in the airport seemed to know where it was. Unbeknown to us, it’s only in one of the two terminals & we arrived in the wrong one; so we had to take a cab. We only stayed the one night here before our cruise & chose it because of proximity to airport & the shuttle!

Very trendy

the hotel itself is very nice, very good accomodations and services. Location if you are a tourist is closer to the airport than to center city. It does has close access to the metro an a bus service to center city and airport.

Great end to a great trip

We had to find a hotel for our last two days in Barcelona. We found the hotel was super nice helping us find our way around. There is a metro stop not to far from it and they have a shuttle on a schedule (that is posted in the lobby) to the airport and the center of town. The room was AMAZING. We would totally stay here again.

Hesperia exceeded our expectations

The room was very nice and the staff was very helpful. It was nice to hace free WIFI to check email and call internationally using Skype. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Barcelona. Just make certain you have the full address to the property so if you take a taxi to it there won’t be any questions where it is located.

5 star luxury hotel at 3 star prices

Excellent design. Convenient location with closeness to Barcelona city centre using the subway. Clean comfortable rooms simila to "W" hotels concept.

Good choice we picked-up for one good night sleep with kids as a transit hotel before we catch an overseas flight

Well worth the stay if you want to come back to a cool, clean and comfortable room after a day trip

The only drawback; not very well situated to have access to downtown, we have rented a car and had no problems to drive into the city within 10 minutes. However bus transportation is right in front and subway station is near. Hotel parking is expensive but had no problems parking the car next to the hotel every day.

Internet access at the business center is expensive, having your laptop with you is a better choice or half an hour at the internet cafe at "La Rambla" is more than enough for a quick scroll through your mail box. Health Club & Spa is charming but extra charge daily, restaurant at top is breath taking but prefered better food and much cheaper in town.

five star? i think not! this is a three star hotel a half hour outside the city! rubbish! this place is a bad joke, they promised to fix my phone the entire time i was there and of course they did not!these people should not have a five star rating!!!!!!!!!!!!

very nice hotel

I liked it very much. The decoration is very nice. Mi complain is about the shuttle service. The schedule is very limited. It is not close to the city, but the metro is very very very close, so you can take the red line and get to everyplace in Barcelona.

Hesperia Tower Barcelona, is not safe at all for family

Hesperia Tower , Barcelona . Hesperia hotel is located in a very bad area, (very similar to Harlem in New York ) Hesperia Tower , does not have any transportation/Shuttle services for main transportation Center , The only shuttle it has for Airport, with limited times between 6:am to 9:am only. The hotel staff, are very unprofessional, and not cooperative at all. The front counter is not for customer Services, they are there for selling Bus Ticket, Booking for Breakfast to get the commission. The room service is available, but no one pay attention, we complained about TV, the Tech guy showed up but did nothing and entire 3 nights has unpleasant situation.This hotel is rated Five Star, it has no Iron, no Ice, no coffee and top of all the Hotel staff are unprofessional. They claimed they have room service on demand.The hotel is located in a very bad area, the public Transportation which is underground has good 10 minutes walking distance, there are lot of junkies, and robbers around there.

The location of Hesperia Tower Barcelona, is not safe especially for family vacation.

Contemporary hotel

Very close to the airport and metro. My only non-positive comments is in regards to the beds. I have yet to find comfortable beds in a European hotel. The feather beds of a Ritz or upper class Marriot do not appear to be available anywhere. The shower facilities, television channel availability, and closet space were all excellent. The service staff was also very responsive.

If you are looking to tour Barcelona, I would stay a bit closer to the city. This was a last minute hotel for us, and not knowing the landscape, it was a bit of the main areas.

The only negative of this hotel is its location. It is at the end of a subway line. But other than that- 5 stars.

I have visited Barcelona 4 times, Staying in Hespiria was the best

It is very nice 5 stars hotel. I had an exhibition in the convention center in Rambla Prime. The hotel is located near the hi way (ronda Litoral) and the main street Gran Via. I needed to drive 15:20 min to reach exhibition center. Free parking was available arround the hotel. I enjoyed the 5 stars service for a 3 star price. I will consider this hotel for my future stay in Barcelona.

Great value - outside the city but easy to get downtown!

The hotel accommodations are beautiful. The lobby, rooms and bathrooms are spectacular and clean. The service from the staff was excellent. The location is very convenient to the metro (Hospital de Bellvitge stop on the L1 red line). Depending on where you are heading you can expect a 20-40 minute ride. The hotel has a shuttle service that runs at least three times daily into Plaça Catalunya (check the hotel web site for the schedule). On two occasions we took a taxi from downtown to the hotel because we were out late. Both times we paid less than 15 euro to get to the hotel. I have only a few suggestions for hotel improvements. I expected to have an iron, ironing board, and hair conditioner. I would recommend you bring your own conditioner because I wasnt able to find any small bottle at the grocery store. Also, the wireless internet signal is extremely poor in the rooms. The only place we were able to get a good wifi signal was in the lobby on the chairs near the elevator bay.

If you can get up in time for the shuttle into Plaça Catalunya (leaves at 10 a.m.), you should definitely try to do that for breakfast. As we were on a budget we could not justify spending 24 euro on breakfast at the hotel. Plenty of places on Passeig de Gràcia or La Rambla have coffee and pastries for a good breakfast to start the day.

5 Star Choice for Airport Connection and Convenience

We wanted a quality 5 Star Experience that was close to the Airport for an early connection and this hotel delivered wonderfully. Ultra Modern with an fabulous Expedia deal. Staff very helpful. It’s an experience all in itself. We would do it again . . . gladly. We’ll be back.

If you like shopping, we recommend a short cab ride to the beautiful contemporary CarreFour Mall . . . it has everything your heart would ever desire. Modern, breathtaking decor, excellent choices . . . a real find.

First Class Hotel

We enjoyed our 1 week stay at the hotel. The staff spoke English and we spoke some Spanish. The staff was very knowledgeable of the area and provided maps and places to see. The hotel itself was spectacular. The decor was modern and very clean. The gym is one of the best in the city. Also, the hotel had shuttle service to the center of the city and the driver was fun to talk to in Spanish. He also was knowledgeable of the area. Last, the rooms were clean and new.

True 5 star architecture & design gem

Excellent hotel, 5 star service, perfect rooms, magnificent design by Richard Rogers ( the architect who designed the Centre Beaubourg in Paris ), very helpful & friendly staff. Top restaurants in the hotel. Metro stop in front of the hotel. Free shuttle to city centre.Absolutely worth the extra distance from the city centre.

Fancy hotel in a great city.

This is a very fancy hotel with granite floors, high tech elevators, very clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. This hotel is built last year old and it very contemporary. Staff spoke good English and they are friendly and helpful. They gave excellent service. Free wireless is a plus. There is an airport shuttle runs frequently. Metro station is just one block away. A 15 minute metro ride to the downtown makes it very convenient. Things I do not like: 1) not in downtown 2) no bath tub but the shower is fancy; 3) you have to pay 12 euros per day, if you want to use the pool or fitness center
