comfortable stay, good price in compare with other expensive lodgings in Ayers Rock compound.
We chose Outback Pioneer because the cost is cheaper than the other voyages hotels in the compound. We were quite impressed. We have a standard quad with 1 queen and 2 twin beds. The room is clean and comfortable. The only complaint is my CLinque facial cleaner which is the same size as the hotel shampoo and conditioner. I think the maid threw it away accidentally. I have no face cleaner left for the rest of my trip in Australia. Overall, we are happy that we chose the pioneer outback.

What a dump!!
Remember the place you went in 6th grade, that "leadership camp" up in the mountains? Yeah, it reminded us of that. We went in the middle of their summer, and boy was it hot. We weren’t epecting 5 star resort quality, but a tent in the middle of the outback would have been better. When we got to our room, there were bugs crawling and flying all over, the room smelled of insect killer (or something like it), there were mysterious stains in the toilet and around the facilities - needless to say, we only stayed one night. Fly in, see the rock, then leave the same day if you can - not worth it otherwise.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Be sure to book early - had we not have done this, we wouldn’t have had anything to do except look at our dingy room. Also, be prepared with flynets - they flies there are aggressive and never ending.
