A special, small hotel
We stayed at Residence Vatican Suites as tourists on our first visit to Rome. This hotel is off a gated courtyard in a quiet, hilltop residential area outside the Vatican walls and is well kept, comfortable and very clean. The staff is eager and helpful but there are only the most basic services. Wired internet is available. No breakfast or other food is served; a kitchenette was in the room but there is a substantial one-time extra surcharge (perhaps for cleaning) if you use it at all. A pleasant rooftop patio is open in the morning. Although the hotel is almost in the shadow of St. Peter’s dome, it is, however, outside the Vatican walls, so public access to St. Peter’s or to the Vatican museums involves a long walk of perhaps a mile, including down long stairs, to the Vatican’s public areas. Bus service to central sites in Rome is some distance away and is quite good.

I definitely will stay in this hotel when I go back to Rome
Overall services were great, the hotel location is very convinience since I was so excited to see Vatican City, it’s only 5 minutes walk to Vatican City and from there is a very easy access to go anywhere around city. The staffs are very friendly and really helpful with some information for a first timer in Rome like me. Thank’s to Antonio, one of the staffs member in this Hotel.

Great little place right behind the Vatican
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was just down the street from the Vatican and the front desk was so helpful in showing you great places to eat and how to get around. Our room was a good sized room and pretty comfortable. I would definitely go back there.
