Great value for the money. Excellant service and food. One day turn around on laundry and free internet. In a good location. I would stay there again.

Wonderful Stay
The Silom City Hotel was a wonderful stay that was located on a nice quiet side street that was accessible to everything I wanted. I stayed on the 12 floor which had a good view of the city. The room was a bit dated but had been maintained well so there werent any problems with the accommodations. There was a sitting area and large refrigerator, I asked for a safe and received a lock barrel for the one that was located in the closet. The bathroom was a bit small but nothing you cant live with. Front desk and lobby staff (spoke good English) were very helpful and friendly and took care of anything I needed. I could even reload my cell phone right there. Breakfast was simple fare but all you could eat. Coffee was good. The in-house massage staff(also spoke good English)... I cant say enough positive about them. Excellent Thai massage! Highly recommended. If you want something other than Thai massage head out for a tuktuk to Papong. Maybe living the last year in Afghanistan makes me appreciate things differently but for the price (and I got the Deluxe Suite Plus room) makes it hard to beat. The location can be a bit tough for cabbies so just bring the phone number and they can call for the location. Once there you can walk to at least one temple and grab any other transportation to all the rest easily. If your on the same side of the river you can always grab a tuktuk back to the Silon City.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The coffee shop right out the front door is great. Dont let the few grumpy people out in the front put you off. They remember you order the next time as if youve been coming for years and some one will strike up a conversation while you wait. Eat at the restaurants on the opposite side of the wet market before coming to Silom. Good food, cheap price.
