Go there all the time
* Yes, I just stayed at the Saxony. I have visited the same hotel for years. It is what it is. A inexpensive hotel that is in a good location but a little on the dumpy side. I stay there all the time and would recommend it to anyone who is not a snob, or neat freak. The sheets are clean and it is a good place to crash after seeing the sights. Within walking distance of the tourist area, and right on the beach. Just walk out of your room and 50 ft is the shore. The price is right,and if you are a yuppie do not stay here. This is a good value and a budget hotel in a great location. If you don’t like it stay 2 doors down and pay 3 times the rate with the same view.
Go to the old fashioned boardwalk game rooms, and have a few drinks, eat something, and play a few arcades

Close to the beach and pier
It’s close to the beach and pier. Since we were gone most of the day, we only needed a bed, shower, and clothes rack; and we got that at a low price. We overlooked some of the repair which the room needed, and were happy to be a few feet away from sand and sun.

Would not recommend to anyone!
Would not recommend to anyone, Very run down, apparently waiting on a city buyout. Site to the south is an eye sore, deserted Hotel drawing the homeless. No room service. Would have left and went somewhere else before even checking-in had we not paid for rooms in advance and had the others in the group had the funds to switch. Pictures do it justice. No iron, hair blowers, etc. Dirty and old mattress and box springs, Dirty carpets. Ceiling light had a short in it. No laundry on site. Doesn’t appear to be a safe area! Would not stay here even if Free!
Traveler's tip on dining
One good thing, found the best Food in Florida. A1A Betty’s just north about 7 miles. Great food, could eat off the floor, and great view of the ocean. Pasta is Great!, Shrimp, I recommed, and dont forget the Homemade Pies and Cheese Cake. Ended up eating there several days.
