Great Time
The Hotel Nordica is extremely comfortable and has all the amenities one could need on vacation. It has an exceptional restaurant and beautiful lobby. The shuttle is convienent though it only runs in certain times of the day. I would recommend upgrading to the executive lounge as it is unbelievable for views. The spa was a great place to unwind and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Neat hotel. Surprisingly poor service.
The hotel is located about a mile from the town’s cool pub, cafe and shopping district. It is in a rather drap and industrial area. Cabs are always outside to take you to town. The hotel inside is attractive architecturally and very clean with a neat bar and restaurant (VOX). The only downside was the service. The staff seemed to offer only a minimum of courtesy and help including tiny, expensive martini’s at the bar (a sin), and overall just seemed reluctant to provide much in the way of information, or assistance. And they absolutely stunk at giving directions. The one exception to this rule was the concierge desk which had a lot of travel and visitor tips and info. We would recommend this hotel if the service issue doesn’t bother you. For us it was a minor annoyance, just surprising from one of the town’s supposedly superior hotels.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Four travel tips. Use a credit card for everything. Go the Fish Cellar Restaurant in town-the best meal we ever had. Go whale watching for fun. And if you are in Iceland for more than two days, get out of the city and see the natural wonders. Reykjavik ain’t Paris.
