Can’t wait to go Back

This is a nicely secluded hotel on the south side of the Island. If you are looking for romantic getaway, on the beach, this is it. Our hotel staff was friendly, cleanliness was excelent. The room comes with a small fridge and microwave. My wife loved her stay as well.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Bicycles are available at the office for traveling into town, or taxis. The hotel has several travel excursions, we went to Lamanai and enjoyed it greatly. For excusion only book through the hotel.

Very Nice rooms

The rooms are nice and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again. One note the beach was not cleaned up for the first couple of days.

I will go back and stay there again

It is a quiet place to stay with a beautiful beach. It is nothing fancy but has what you need and the cabana worked well for us. I would highly recommend it is you are looking for a quiet, laid back place to stay.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

It’s on the south side of town so you will need to rent bikes or a golf cart to get to downtown or be ready for a long walk.

Royal Caribbean--Great place to stay on Ambergris Caye!

March 11-16, 2009. RCR is right next door to The Victoria House Resort on the south side of town. It looks exactly like it looks in the pictures on the web site. The cabanas are plenty roomy for two. We liked having our own "place" rather than being in a tradition hotel. The cabana we were in had a mini kitchen which was nice for a few groceries from the numerous supermarkets not too far away. They also have a restaurant and bar (The Sandbar)next to the pool on the beach. Coconut palms with hammocks and beach lounge chairs with umbrellas line the beach. The staff is excellent. Everything we wanted to do on a daily basis, they would take care of booking it for us. Bicycles, golf carts, tours, diving, snorkeling, taxi, pizza!..you name it, they can get it for you..delivered! If you book anything that requires a boat, they will pick you up and drop you off right there on RCR’s dock, which was REALLY nice. RCR is a few miles south from the heart of San Pedro, so you might consider a bicycle or golf cart if you’re planning to go to town alot; although walking to town isn’t hard, it just takes longer. Golf carts are fairly expensive to rent, $60-$65 per day US, VS. bicycles for $7-$10 per day US. RCR is not a luxury 5 star resort (although there is one right next door if you’re looking for that)but if you’re looking for a nice, clean, quite place with a great staff for a reasonable price, you can’t beat RCR on Ambergris Caye.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

We went diving for two days and snorkeling on the reef. We HIGHLY recommend the snorkel trip to shark/ray alley and Hol Chan reef. We used Sea-rious adventures and it was the best $25 per person we spent on the trip.

Awesome experience, nicest staff ever

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at Royal Caribbean. The room was huge and super clean. We booked four excursions through the hotel (snorkling at shark ray alley, blue hole, cave tubing/zip lining) and got setup with fair prices. They made it super easy and answered all of our questions. They also booked our golf cart, flights to the mainland, and even called a doctor for us when my girlfriend’s asthma got bad. You won’t find a nicer staff anywhere on the island. On a side note, while you’re on the island, make sure to check out Palapa bar. It’s north of "the bridge" so you’ll need to take a golf cart, but it’s the coolest bar I’ve ever been to. It’s basically a big hut at the end of a dock. Super fun, laidback bar.

Didn’t want to leave!

The Royal Caribbean was just far enough away from the hustle of the night life in San Pedro.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Sandbar right next door was great! The owner treated us like family!!!

The hotel was the furthest from anything and I would not stay on the San Pedro Island again.

The hotel was nice and the people friendly. The beach was unswimable. The charge you for everything (old bikes and high prices for golf carts). You need transportation to get into town. It costs $5 to and $5 dollars from town. It seems like your nickle and dimed to death. I though the hotel could at least pick you up and take you to the airport.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Everything costs extra on the island, because you have to pay extra to get to the main part of Belize. You go either by boat or plane. It costs $60 one way by plan (15 min.) and an hour by boat which a very rough ride. They have a cheaper price for locals. Your ticket gets you to the main part of Belize, than you find out you still need to get out to the island. They also charge you about $35 to leave Belize. I don’t think I’d ever go back.

Great hotel, will stay there again

The Royal Caribbean Resort was perfect for us (two adult friends traveling together). Large comfortable, spotlessly clean room with two comfortable beds plus fridge, microwave and kettle. Our room was close to the well maintained beach and laid-back bar/restaurant. The management was very helpful and the restaurant had excellent food...all at a good value. Since the Royal Caribbean is two miles from the airport, plan on renting a golf cart, but that was fun as well...just part of being in San Pedro.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Do snorkel the reef, its fantastic. Take the water taxi over to Caye Caulker for the day, and by all means, spend time discovering San Pedro, you will feel completely at home in no time. Have breakfast at Estels, Have dinner or lunch at Wild Mango’s....enjoy.

Loved the privacy

We enjoyed having our own little cabin with its kitchenette and separate bedroom area. Very clean and laid back place. Desk staff is excellent. I’d go back to the Royal Caribbean again.

This place is away form alot of the noise of the main area, it allows you to escape.

We enjoyed our stay due to the Fidos (south) bar located next door, great staff who entertain. The rooms were great, organising a tour, cart, bike or taxi was easy with the reception. Will stay there agin if we return to Belize.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

if the pool says closed in doesnt include resort patrons. take a snorkle to explore the piers.

A Good Choice for Simplicity

Though at the far end of town, the hotel’s bikes made for easy and fun transport. Most people rent golf carts but we found it unnecessary and much more fun on bikes, The staff are very friendly and helpful in directing where to eat and how to get around and in assisting with connecting guests with other services and activities. Buy a few groceries and drinks to keep in your room as well as some ground coffee and cones to make your own. Also, swimming in the sea is not great in San Pedro & the pool is cold.
