Needs Updating
Overall Ok place. The room we stayed in needed the ceiling painted and mattresses. Looked like they have just renovated bathrooms which look great. But rest of room paint, beds and TVs could really use some updating. Continental breakfast was very average and not well stocked. The adjacent golf course looked really nice and I hope to go back and play it one day.

Fall on the Lake
Lakeview is in a great location with two on-site golf courses and overlooking Cheat Lake. The hotel has recently been updated with wireless internet. The food is good and the views are fantastic.
If you love bargains, hit Gabriel Brothers (a big discount store) at the Westover exit off I-79. We look forward to stopping there every year.

Football weekend
When I booked this hotel I really thought I was getting a "Resort & Spa". We probably paid double the per night rate because it was a football weekend. Never got the chance to take advantage of the amenities. Hotel was old and in need of updating. That being said...the room was clean and comfortable. I guess if I had paid a regular rate it would not have seemed so bad. Will give it a try again on an off weekend and maybe get to gold too.

hotel looks beautiful
the hotel looks great right on putting green. inside is pretty. food there is quite expensive, biggest complaint is that the air conditioning wasn’t working right, room smelled very damp all the time. called the front desk and spoke with a worker who both said they would send someone to check but that someone never came.

Valentine’s Day
We went for valentine’s day and paid for the upgrades and dinner package. It was ok, nothing to write home about. Hotel was very clean, quiet, and enjoyable. The hot tub was a little outdated and didn’t function very well. The dinner that was served was subpar, not what we expected. Basically glorified roast bead and mac and cheese. We also were charged for wine all night when we thought it was complimentary. The check was quite the surprise. Facilities were all very accessible and convenient. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a nice view of the golf course.

Great Hotel...And Terrific Golf Course
While a little bit of a drive from the university campus, I highly recommend staying at this terrific property. The championship golf course was a thing of beauty, with the elevated tees, rolling hills and challenging greens. I don’t hesitate staying in Lakeview each time I visit Morgantown (about once a year) and I highly recommend this property to anyone.

Plain vanilla
2nd stay at Lakeview while delivering kids to nearby WVU. Last time was 2 years ago. Basic room, basic ammenities. "Resort" is a bit of an exagerration but I understand marketing. Trash overflowing containers outside the wing of the hotel where we stayed gave a shabby appearance. I wouldn’t stay a week, but it served its purpose for the night.

Not fancy, but . . .
Not a fancy resort on a golf course, but it is a good, clean, comfortable hotel on a very nice course. Easy trip to downtown, etc. Would happily stay there again!

Friendly folks in the Mountains
The staff at Lakeview made our stay pleasant. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to make sure we felt well cared for. Even the waitstaff in Fusions, the formal restaurant in the hotel, went above and beyond expectations. As a matter of fact, we witnessed a waitress being badly treated by a rude male patron to whom she responded with great grace and tact. The food was great, too. We had the misfortune of staying during a Harley Davidson event,resulting in the sound of motorcycle motors revving in the parking lot all Saturday night in an otherwise beautiful, quiet mountain setting. Also, although we had a non-smoking room, the smell of smokers filled the hallway.

Not Impressed
Trouble with the internet reservation, difficulty checking in, difficulty checking out. Facility is "tired" and in need of an update. Forgot about "off season", would think staff would be more on the ball given that they are not as busy as in season, but.......

Not a 4 star
The hotel was just okay and should have never been considered a four star hotel. Our room was very dirty, the air-conditioning was not working properly and it had a leak in the ceiling that needed to be fixed.

Nice, but...
From the description of this hotel, I thought I was getting a really good deal. While the hotel was fine, it didn’t live up to the hype. The room was decent but was showing its age. The location does make up for this somewhat. Being quite a distance from any major road, it is situated in a relatively quiet place.
