Decent motel
Clean room and good service. Breakfast wasn’t served until 8 am so we never saw that, it appeared to be served in a very small place. Townsend is a much better place to stay than Gatlinburg unless you like thousands of people and store after store full of junk.

Clean, Quiet, Convenient
Townsend is known as the "Peaceful side of the Smokies" and it is. Not much going on there and that’s the point! The area restaurants are great and seldom crowded and access to the park is easy. Highland Manor Inn was perfect for a quiet get-a-way. The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the neighbors were very well behaved. The front desk was helpful and friendly. It is basic, but for us basic was perfect.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Tubing (warm weather) and Cades Cove in Townsend. Pigeon Forge is about 20 mins away with every activity known to man, but far from quiet and peaceful. Gatlinburg another 10 mins from there and very commercial.

Nice hotel in a sleepy little town
This is a nice clean place to stay. The hotel staff were very pleasant. There are no frills to the room, but it it set on a quiet hill right off of the highway. This is a great place to sight enjoy the Smokies from or you can visit Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg 15 miles away, at a fraction of the cost of hotels there.
