Stay there if you are in college
This is actually like a vacation rental. The location you can not beat right on the royal mile next to the castle. However, you dont know where you are going to stay since they have locations all over Edinburgh. We lucked out. They gave us 1 roll of toliet paper for 8 days of stay anything else you have to buy yourself. Also, they give you 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel for a weeks stay. There is maid service once a week- so if you need the place freshed up including new towels and trash taken out before the weekly service it is 15 pounds about 30 US. The place was big nice kitchen, but no hot water in the kitchen or bathroom sink. The shower was either boil your skin hot or freeze your butt off cold no in between. So you can imagine the shower on top of the limited supply of towels we were ready for an american shower! Thank goodness we like to camp. Again the location we could not beat so it did over shadow the downs, but alot of college students stayed in the building on the weekend. Loud drinking nights! It was like a spring break session. We were ok with it but were looking for some piece and quiet now and again. Last a mouse was in the apartment and we heard it all week. It even ate some of our food we bought for the week. Stay here if you are ok with revisiting your college dorm days, dont care that the furniture was dirty and I was afraid to sit on it- the couch was suppose to be white but was a light beige color, and dont mind not having hot water.
Not good for families
