Nothing Fancy
I chose this motel because the price was low and it was located just a few blocks from where I was working for the three days. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The maid service was outstanding. I always had a clean room and clean towels when I arrived from my work day. The breakfast was simple, coffee and juices were fully stocked. The only bad thing was that the bathroom window was located right next a generator that ran 24/7 on the roof next door. I would request a room far from room #218 if I stay there again.

Sub-par Hotel
We expected a slightly better place, based on the local Travelodge near our home. What we got was a less than desireable place. At first we were given a room with a bathroom window that is not lockable, and open to an alley! When we asked we were given another room immediately and without a question. Room service was subpar. Toilet paper or napkins were left unchnaged (expecting guests to replace them!) TV had no remote control; the carpet was stained, and the walk-in closet had no light. Management Staff (looked like family-owned) were very acommodating and kind, but definitly need to upgrade the place. Breakfast was decent and plentiful. We did not stay there much since we were out all day visiting Southern California, but we were hoping for a better place. I guess, for a single transient person, on a budget, this may do; but definitly not for a family looking for mid-range place to stay.
The neighborhood was safe, with many restaurants, and fairly close to most of the San Diego attractions. If you can handle staying at a cheap place, go for it. If not, and you are picky, go somewhere else.

Old facility
I somehow got a smoking room and they werent able to move me. The place was ok and is under new management so it may get better with time.
