Would definitely recommend

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Our suite was cozy and the service provided was above and beyond. The hotel staff made it a point to greet us everytime they saw us and made us feel very welcome. The location is a bit out of the way if you want to hit the casinos on the south end, but it is close to Truckee. We had dinner and drinks a couple of nights during our stay at the pub in the resort and the quality of the food was more than I expected. The only thing that I didn’t like was that they didn’t offer HBO, other than that everything was great.

Just Gorgeous

Part of the beauty of this hotel is the mounting setting. Absolutely stunning. The food in the Six Peaks Grilled and Sandy’s Pub were exceptional. We were there during the off-season Oct. 2009 and the staff were excellent. They have a FREE shuttle to nearby Olympic Village with more shopping and restaurants. Book your trip right away.

Close to Tahoe Blue

The Resort at Squaw Creek is our favorite place to stay. During the summer it is fairly quiet with access to the Olympic Village, river side trail for biking and hiking, and just a very short drive to either Lake Tahoe or Truckee. Concierge service is top notch!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Aside from the great dining onsite, we recommend Dragonfly Restaurant in Truckee or Evans Restaurant in Emerald Bay for some of the best dining around. Lake Tahoe Adventures offers ATV runs in the summer and snowmobile runs in the winter. Truckee Whitewater does great Truckee River runs. Alpine Meadow offers horseback riding. All within short drives from Resort.

SUPER ADVENTURE!

From the moment we drove up to the resort we were well taken care of. Everyone was kind and the resort was a wonderful place to take our family.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Driving around Lake Tahoe is a must.

staff must be overworked

Nice facility, but we couldn’t seem to get the attention or the concern of the staff. They all seemed too busy to care.

Nice but Noisy

Had problems with late night check-in. The food/ room service is $$$$$ and no grocery stores close by. It’s a long drive out of Squaw to get to either Truckee or Tahoe City. This is a hotel for adults and business travelers- saw only a few bored kids in the lounge. However, the staff is very friendly and accomodating. Be prepared for valet parking charges and additional resort fees! I would recommend this to some friends but have found equally nice, larger condos in this area for half the price.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

If internet is necessary and meeting facilities for large groups look no further! The golf course is narrow with marshland so bring plenty of balls!

Very nice if you are a skier

The hotel is right at the base of the slopes and a free shuttle connects you to Squaw Vallet resort and more shopping, dining, and slopes. If you do not ski, there is no need to stay here. The pool is heated, but outdoors. The food is fine, but not special. The rooms are comfortable, the bed was wonderful. Flying in/out of Reno is an easy drive, but has few direct flights to East Coast. The airport needs a big renovation. Enjoy.

Great resort at lake Tahoe

Beauiful hotel overlooking Olymic Valley and the ski mountain. We had a one bedroom suite with a fireplace. Very clean room with 2 flat screen TV’s. The sports grill and good food at reasonable prices for a resort. would definitely come back.

Traveler's tip on dining

Eat at the sports grill.

Great hotel but expensive

Nice veiw, my 5 yares girl loves the swimming pools and hot tubs but not good for my 10 months boy. The pool with the slide was closed to fix some problems during our stay.

The biking trail from hotel to Olympic Valley is very nice for family

Great North Shore Location

Our family typically stays in South Shore for trips to Lake Tahoe. This year we opted for a change of pace and weren’t dissapointed with this resort hotel well located in the North Shore area. The location puts you within 15 minutes of everything you need for a fun family getaway: River rafting, horseback riding, wave runners, restaurants, shopping etc. The hotel is pricier than most we’ve stayed at but you get what you pay for -- nice rooms, great service, beautiful surroundings. The concierge service was very helpful with dinner reservations and recommending rental locations for activities. The on-site restaurant, Sandy’s Pub, was a bit of a dissapointment but most of our dinner plans included dining by the lake (Sunnyside, GarWoods, Jakes etc.). Overall, a great stay and we will return!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The on-site coffee shop/bakery is convenient but expensive -- stop off at the Safeway grocery store in Tahoe City on the way in to pick up grocery items.

Honeymoon Week

We spent a week at your resort for our honeymoon. We had a lot of fun and the area provided us so many thing to do. We played golf, relaxed by the pool, hiked, great local restaurants, bad beats at poker, and relaxing spa experience. The staff was great and met all our needs and the rooms were nice and good size.

Not that great

Requested courtesy upgrade and 1hr late checkout and was told no b/c hotel was 95% full only they weren’t close to full. Half the restaurants were closed because it was slow. The room was nice but staff routinely didn’t replace items used (shampoo, coffee, etc.). Pool was nice but again, too few staff so pool service was slow and many workers had poor attitudes. Service in the nicest restaurant was avg.

The pub was actually the best spot during our stay with decent food and good service. Order somores for your kids; one order is plenty & the kids get to roast the marshmellows at the outdoor firepit--very nice.

Great only if you are part of a convention or have kids to entertain

Booked for a special wedding stay -- tried 3 staff members well in advance to arrange for a non-elevator room location, and placement of food, etc. in room for arrival. Despite multiple calls, our honeymoon room was the one on the floor next to the continuous server elevator and we had to move. An awaiting package was misplaced, and our food gifts never arrived. The only staff that appeared interested in providing service was our bell men -- concierge, front desk, etc. were all irritated that we actually asked for help. This place caters to conventions and large families...for those purposes, it’s perfect. If you want romance, stay away.

Great Resort

Love this resort! However, walls are paper thin so we did wake up in the middle of the night from hearing people in neighboring rooms and people in the hall.

Excellent hotel. Every employee we dealt with was top notch. Great ski-in/ski-out. Only complaint: wireless Internet service was REALLY bad. They said they’re working on upgrading.

FABULOUS RESORT...but bring flip flops!

We loved the stay at the resort. Everything was beautiful and luxurious! The staff was extremely friendly. The pool (heated!) and hot tubs (3) were great in the evenings. We went to the store and bought grocieries and were suprised to find how convenient it was to cook. The resort provides all of the pots and pans and utensils. Overall, we loved it and can’t wait to go back!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Here is the only suggestions: bring flip flops for the walk to the pool (everyone wears their resort robes to the pool, so you look a little silly in tennis shoes!).
