Very Happy

The hotel staff was great...they were very helpful to my husband checking in and comeing back to the airport to meet my flight. They never failed to go out of their way to help us with whatever we asked. The decor was a little dated...especially the bathrooms...but not worn or dirty. Booked a king room and joked at check in about getting a upgrade and got it. 2 1/2 bath, 3 bedroom suite. Other reviews are dead on...taxi drivers have problems finding it so telling them the Conrad (just around the corner) makes it simple. Room service was good, pretty basic, always quick and hot. Overall great place to stay.

Arkadia Mall is a short 5 min walk. Decent food court and plenty of stores. Good mix of tourist items and everyday local stores.

Not much of a Hotel

The Hilton Cairo WTC was quite a disappointment. It is in an urgent need of renovation. The rooms and atmosphere are old. I didn’t know better and booked this expecting the quality of most international Hiltons. What I found was an old building, with rooms that felt like old apartments. The building is actually a condo building with rooms converted into a hotel. You’ll actually see mailboxes in the lobby. The nail in the coffin was the fact that there is a Conrad Hilton right IN FRONT of it which is a MARVELOUS hotel. We actually found ourselves relaxing in the Conrad Hilton and only using the Hilton WTC to sleep. What saves the Hilton WTC is the service. Like most other places in Egypt - the service was very good.

Mixed impression

First of all, it was my first time in Cairo and I did not expect such a chaotic city covered with smog. It was a shock and it certainly influenced my satisfaction with my stay, because, while the hotel was good in itself, every time I got out of the hotel’s front door, the air was unbreathable and the traffic noise unbearable. It was a real pity because I was upgraded to a gorgeous room on the 29th floor with an incredible view of Cairo from an extra-sized terrace; but i could enjoy it only for a few minutes at dawn, when the smog wasn’t too much thick yet. The room itself was a bit dated, but very comfortable. Laundry and other services were extremely quick. The only issue - very bad for me, as I was in Cairo for work - was that I didn’t have internet connection from the room. You must ask at the front to have a technician come to install a cable, and if you arrive late in the evening you have to wait until the following day for it; so, as I needed to use internet, on the first night I had to walk to a nearby luxury hotels and use their web access from the hall, and stay there until morning. Frustrating, if you already have a gorgeous room you have paid for at your hotel, but you cannot use it because you don’t have internet there... By the way, internet access is at charge. Excluding this issue, everything was very good and I would recommend this hotel. Note anyway that I have not seen standard rooms.
