Good Hotel
Great Location, walking distance from Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. The subway station is one block from the hotel.

Great Location, Unimpressed by Staff or Rooms
Asturias is located extremely close to Plaza del Sol in Madrid, making it a good choice for travelers who merely want a place to crash. The rooms are fine for the same purpose, but anyone who is looking for a truly luxurious experience (or just one in which the other occupants and cleaning staff dont start slamming doors and shouting in Spanish down the halls to each other at 7 AM) this isnt the place for you. Many members of the staff speak English, but you should attempt to speak Spanish with them first. Unfortunately, bad Spanish- even with an apology- will be judged just as much as starting in English. One of the front desk clerks in particular was rude and gave the impression that we were severelyinconviniencing him by staying in his hotel- though he seemed to be that way to everyone, so dont take it personally. Stay here if youre on a budget and dont plan to do more than sleep and shower there- if not, go elsewhere.

Old Hotel
This is a very old hotel with no maintenece at all. The rooms are very small, not clean, and very close to each other, which brings a lot of noise, even in the night. The staff doesnt care for anything. The only good thing about the hotel is its location.
