A real surprise in midtown Minneapolis!
Not wanting to pay premium prices for a downtown hotel on a leisure visit, we stumbled upon this gem in a largely residential/shopping area in south Minneapolis (for those of you who know Mpls, its where Sears used to be). The hotel is beautiful, the staff is gracious, and they really go the extra mile because they are not located in an area with lots of other hotels. Bonus: the Minneapolis Global Market shares the parking lot, and there are lots of wonderful ethnic restaurants in the (safe) neighborhood. Conveniently located and reasonably priced -- especially on weekends. We will stay there again and again!
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Nearby Lake Street has lots of authentic ethnic restaurants, including many Mexican (and other Hispanic) restaurants to the east, and the famous Black Forest a few blocks to the west. Youre also close here to the light rail which can take you to downtown (north) or the Mall of America (south).

Pet Friendly
We had to bring our dog unexpectedly and the hotel staff was very welcoming and even gave us a doggy bag with pet essentials.
